L17LCD2 goes blank

My L17LCD2 displays the proper image when first turned on but after a few seconds the screen goes blank. I can see no image even when shining a light on the screen, so I believe back light is not the problem. Thanks for any insights you can offer.

I have checked with the previous owner and the monitor has spent its entire "life" on top of his desk with plenty of air circulating and no direct exposure to heat, such as radiators, sunlight, etc. Thank you for the lead though. Based on other listings on this topic, I have removed and tested C922, C924, C925, and C926. None of them seem to be shorted or leaky at 15 volts. ANy more thoughts? Thanks,

I'm quite sure this monitor is at fault as others work fine with the same PC. As stated in my comment to Solution #1, I have removed and tested all the "popular" capacitors in the low voltage power supply (C922, C924, C925, and C926 and they do not leak or short with 15 volts applied. Any more thoughts on this? Thanks for what's been suggested already. Jim

For you to make sure that this is not a monitor problem, try unplugging the cable at the back and there should be a message " MONITOR SELF TEST" if that didnt show up, you have to replace the monitor and just make sure the connection on the back of your computer is not loose.

Benq fp581 screen goes blank after about half a second evertime i turn on my computer.

Even thought the monitor looks blank check to see if you can see a faint image (shining a flashlight at the monitor sometimes helps). If you can see an image it could mean that the inverter board has gone bad.

I have also heard of an overheated computer causing a similar problem.

Screen Goes Blank

Ive seen this on other monitors. Look for a 1 and 2. Some monitors do NOT auto detect a signal, and this one might not. Look for a way to set the monitor from Digital input to VGA input. Try that and see.

LiquidVideo L17LCD2 17 in. Flat Panel LCD Monitor - Power Issues

firstly stop turning it off and on because you will blow something else like a power board then it will be a big paper weight.
next get a torch and when it is powered on and supposed to be showing images, shine the torch at the screen.
if you can see everything then you have a broken backlight or problem with your backlight and connections.
they cost approx £15 and a little labour, its not a big job. you may be able to do it yourself if you can get hold of a service manual.

LCD monitor goes blank

It appears that the display resolution set in your display properties is out of the range that the LCD can display.

Try this.

Boot to the ENABLE VGA MODE by pressing F8 to get the Windows Boot Menu. If you can get to the desktop, then go to display properties, and see if you can change the resolution to higher settings and maintain video. (If the video blanks out, then it should revert to the previous setting in 15 seconds)
