1985 GMC Sierra Classic has battery charge but

1985 GMC Sierra Classic has battery charge but dies with one click??!? Ran of gas & had to get battery jumped the other day. Since I bought the truck the battery would always bog out when trying to start. But would start. Went to start today. Engine almost turned over. Tried again then died with a click. Charge sometimes works in the cab but will die as soon as I turn the ignition key. Any thoughts??! Starter? Fuses?? Help please

SOURCE: Just turns off on it's own, Wait 60 sec. restart press pedel it dies.

This engine is electronically controlled so the first thing that must be done here is to have the systems control computer tested for fault codes and then do the proper diagnostics based on those codes.

the battery is probably bad, one way to test it is conduct a load test. Hook a voltage meter to the battery post and have someone try to start the truck. If the voltage drops below 10.4 volts DC, replace the battery.

2000 Cadillac ran out of gas I put gas in it and battery died I got a jump and it still won't start

if you ran out of gas this will not cause a battery to go dead. you may have a charging problem causing the car to run only off of the battery voltage until the battery was too low to run the ignition system and died.

You probably didn't run it long enough to charge up the battery. Put a voltmeter on it and see if it needs charging, or get it charged up, or get another jump and run it for a half hour and then see if battery is charged up enough to start the engine.

If the security light is on or flashing, you may need to reset the security system.

My 2006 gmc ran out of gas and now wont start why

sounds to me like you have a dead battery, a bad starter, or the elect. fuel pump in the tank has gone bad.

Does the alternator light come on before you start the vehicle..
If not the alternater is incorrectly connected or the globe is blown . It will not charge if the globe is faulty.

2002 gmc 1500 sierra starter clicks but wont turn over. Have checked fuses, charged battery, tried jump starting all it does is you can here solinoid click but starter wont turn. I did turn heater fan on...

Replace the starter, the solenoid cant engage the starter because it is locked up, hence the extreme voltage drop with the fan when you try to start it with the fan on.

Starting problems

Sounds like the starter is physically loose or going bad and draging.

2003 GMC Pickup died while driving on highway.

Sounds like your battery is shorted out, you need to replace the battery. If it is shorted, it will not start because the computer is not getting the right voltage.
