I don't know about your dryer, but as far as the cord.......normally a black and a red are 110v each, the white is a common and the green is an earth ground. Check your manual for the machine

Since moving the light will come on in the tumbler but the power won't turn on. Any idea what the problem is?

If you installed the power cord I am guessing this is a 240 volt electric dryer. Electric dryer terminal blocks have 3 screws in a straight line. The center is neutral with a hot line on each side. The hot lines don't matter which is on the right or left. Now if you have the big flat power cord, the 3 wires are already in line for you. the center is neutral and the 2 hot lines are on the outsides. Install all wire in a straight line. If you have a big round power cord it may have 4 wires inside that are usually color coded. White is Neutral (center screw). green is a secondary ground and can be attached to any screw going into the dryer body. That should leave 2 more wires--red and black, These are your hot lines. put one color on each side of the neutral screw. Doesn't matter if red is on right and black on left side or if you reverse those 2 colors. It should still work properly.

What colors on electrical cord go with what screw on dryer?

The green is ground and usually connects to the metal side of the dryer.
The white is neutral and connects to the white center post. The black and red on the cord are both 110vt hot lines and connect to the posts on each end. So black to black and red to black/brown should be ok.

How do I install the 4 prong electrical cable to the dryer?

I would attach the black wire to the black & yellow, white to white, red to blue & brown. The green wire is your ground wire and needs to be attached to the cabinet. On the connection where your white wire is located see if there is a copper strap that goes from the terminal block to the cabinet. If there is, you will need to remove that strap and attach the green wire to where the strap was attached to the cabinet. Hope this helps!

What's color code for wires in back of dryer

Yes, here you go.
You should have 3 or 4 wires on/in the electric wire from the socket to the back of the dryer.
Open the plate and look at where the wires go to be hooked on.
You will see 3 screws or nuts in a row, left to right.
Carefully loosen these nuts or screws, be SUPER careful not the get them too loose, or they will fall off, sometimes down inside the machine.
Your electric cord has 2 hot wires, they are black and red.
These hot wires go on the right and the left screws, or nuts, but absolutely NOT in the middle!
The hot wires are interchangeable, the can go to the right or to the left.
You should also have a white wire in the cord, and that one, which should be in the middle of a 3 wire cord, attaches in the middle.
It is a ground.
If you have a 4 wire cord, you will have another wire, maybe blue or green.
That attaches to the case or the body of the dryer.
If your dryer has an extra green wire that comes from the inside and is fastened under a screw, that is where the 4th wire goes.
Be blessed.

Dryer has 3 prongs wall has 4. new cord has 4 color coded connections. old one does not. how do I know where to put the 4 switches

3 wires -- Outside two wires (Line 1 and Line 2) Center (Nutral).
4 wires-- Green (ground) Red (Line 1) White (Nutral) Black (Line 2).

You have a terminal block on the back of the dryer that has only space for three wires. The Red and Black go on the out side two posts or screws (does not matter which is on the right or left). The White wire goes in the center. The forth and final wire is the Green which should go under a ground screw located near the terminal block. This screw is usually indicated by the ground symbol which is three horizontal lines that decrease in size as the go down. If there is a copper "bridge" from the center of the terminal block to the ground screw remove and discard.

Cheers.

Where do the wires go for the power cord in the rear of the dryer? there is no color code.

If you are using a 4 prong cord, the white goes to the center terminal and the green to the external ground screw.
Black and red go to the right and left terminals. Does not matter if right or left..
A 3 wire cord...the center wire goes to the center terminal. The other 2 go right and left terminals.
