I have had a good look around and this seems to be a common problem with Maytag Amana etc machines.
Trying search Maytag f70 code and you will see.
It seems to be a faulty Control unit. Cause number 4 below seems to be what you have.
Here is one answer from a tech guy.
"The "F70" error code is indicating a loss of communication between the Central Control Unit (CCU) and the user's interface board on the right hand side of the console. The main top can be taken off by removing the screws along the back edge of the top. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the top.
Possible Causes/Procedure:
1.Check for continuity of the user interface harness
2.Check the wire harness connections at the user interface board and the Central Control Unit.
3.If the unit will run and rotate before the "F70" displays usually indicates the user interface board will need to be replaced.
4.If the unit will not run and rotate usually indicates the Central Control Unit will need to be replaced.
if you feel you cant do this you will need a technician to come and look at this. "
