I lose the signal between my iphone and my bluetooth and get static and crackle when listening to music and books. This started happening sudddenly. What could be the cause?

I use my headphone with my Iphone 4 to listen to books, in particular. It worked fine for a few months - and then started losing signal and I would get crackle and distortion in the sound (that did not happen when using regular earphones - I did that to verify that it wasn't the music/book that was the problem), Only way I can eliminate the crackle is by bascially holding my phone very near the headphones - which kind of defeats the purpose. Are my headphones toast?

You can't as iPhone support only handsfree profile via bluetooth.

I have the same problem with my HBS-250. It was working fine on my iPod Touch. It worked the first couple of weeks on my iPhone 4 then stopped playing music. Phone funtion works. No music or podcasts or streaming from the web

SOURCE: Using Bluetooth to Synch iPhone with Lexus ES350 2009 Phone Book

I tried two different lexus car (2010 RX350 and 2007 ES350).
The phone book was successfully transfered to 2010 RX350. But ES350 does not receive any phone book information. I tried Iphone 3GS and Iphone4 and got the same result.

If the crackling occurs only when opening windows or another program, the crackling is not due to the headphones but to a lack of CPU resources in your computer settings.
If you are in Windows 7,

click the Start button , and then click Control Panel. In the search box, type Performance Information and Tools, and then, in the list of results, click Performance Information and Tools.
Click Adjust visual effects. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Click the Visual Effects tab, click Adjust for best performance, and then click OK.

This accessory isn't optimised for iphone

Some accessories designed for previous iPods and older iPhone models will not function correctly or in some cases at all with your iPhone, there is not much to be done for this problem other than trying a different accessory. In some cases the accessory will work regardless of the message so try using the device anyway and see if it works.

Iphone bluetooth problems

Unfortunately, the iPhone doesn't (yet) have such capability built-in. But engaging the iPod function to listen to music/video audio while a call is taking place will allow you to hear said audio. Obviously this is not an ideal solution. If your phone is jailbroken, there is a tweak to enable music to be played through the bluetooth headphones but it is low quality.

My Jabra Halo works to play iPhone's iPod music as well as phone calls. So does Jabra Arrow, I'm told. The bluetooth must have A2DP.
