Go to the manufacturers website that supports your player and look up the information you need. It should tell you what video file types can be played on the device.

Please tell me where can I get video converter for Multi codec jukebox Iriver h320

Unfortunately, your H320 is great for music, but quite limited when it comes to video files.

The video format specs for Iriver H320 are:

File format: AVI
Codec: XviD MPEG4 (recommend XviD 1.0.2 codec)
Resolution: 220 x 176 only
Frame Rate: 10 or 15fps
Bit Rate: 500Kbps or less
Audio Codec : MPEG 1/2/2.5 Layer3
Audio Bit Rate : 128Kbps, 44.1KHz, CBR

For video conversion, try Pazera's Video Suite or NCH Prism Video Converter; both are freeware.

Cannot play video

Each Video file has an extension (called file extension, like doc and docx for Word) after the filename [filename.ext, or filename.xxx].

to play a video you need:
1- a video player software, and
2- a bit of software called CODEC (wich in my opinion is very important) capable of reading and writing the file extension we need to play.

*** CoDec follows the same formation pattern as MoDem (Modulator / Demodulator) comes to mean Compressor / Decompressor.

Here's a link to a very interresting bank of codecs to read the popular extensions:

Enjoy!!!

And... keep me posted!

Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.

Hello and Welcome to FixYa!
Codecs, to be in Layman's; are the the files necessary to play Audio/Video files.
There are 2 ways to play that file you are having trouble in;
  • Either download and install a Codec Pack, like this. And play your file in Windows Media Player.
  • Download and Install VLC media Player, its a powerful player with all the codecs with it. (I'll recommend this, as I love VLC's power and ease)

Will I play a video I only get sound, No Video.

It sounds like you need to update your video codecs.

Use a program called 'GSpot' and it will tell you what codec you need to play your video file. Then simply download that video file from the net.

I tried to put an avi file on my mp4, but it keeps coming up as ''Waring! File Format Error'' How can I add movies and videos to my touch screen mp4 with a camera. Can some one please help me because I'm...

It's probably a video/audio codec that isn't supported by your device. Try to convert it to a supported codec, even if it has the correct file extension it may not be a supported codec. If it's an MP4 it must be a codec playable by your specific device, you can download GSpot and check the file, then see if the codecs are compatible with your player.

Is there a way to play video's downloaded from an Aiptek 5100m camcorder on windows vista? I keep getting an error that says that an audio codec is need to play the video. Is this camera vista compatible

Go to http://www.videolan.org and download the VLC media player. That should play the files.

Use the K-Lite Codec Pack from http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/KLite-Codec-Pack-Full/1094057842/3 to update your codecs.

To see what codec your files are using, use the G-Spot Codec Appliance available from http://www.headbands.com/gspot/

Panasonic SDR-H40 shows files as mpg

mpg is Mpeg more than likely Mpeg 2 most commonly associated with DVD. Some new versions of Widows Media Players will play it some won't. The fast solution is a company called River Past has a video cleaner, it will convert your Mpg to a mov or avi or wmv. or a variety of formats, what ever you find useful. There maybe other similar products on the market for free check, but you need to convert that file.

Hey

If the video file you are trying to convert is in AVI format, get an AVI codec. If it is in FLV format, get an FLV codec. Same with Mpeg. The codecs are available for free online from many websites.

Won't show video

video files are stored in many file formats and require different codecs to be installed on the PC for the video to play properly.
Alternately you could try downloading VLC player, it seems to be able to paly a lot of DivX stuff not payable by other video players.
