A lot of machines require anti-foaming agents. I simply went to a cleaning supply store that specializes in professional cleaning supplies. I got a gallon of what they call DEFOAMER for around 10.00 several years ago. Still using it. Lasts a long time.

The sealing strip doesn't work , can it be fixed ?

Probably by replacing the strip - it is open. Cost of part may be more than entire unit and not be cost effective to repair.

How do I dismantle a Miele S8310 vacuum cleaner?

if the service agent states that it is not cost effective to repair then trust that advice
They will know of the difficulty to get it apart , the lack of spares when you do break it apart and the safety risk that is posed by repairs by untrained people
many wholesale cleaner shops have regular sales where the price of a new unit will be half the repair cost of an old unit

Dyson service center in memphis

I've got a better idea to help you repair your vacuum that needs service! Do it yourself rather than pay through the nose at a Dyson repair shop between the cost of labor and the cost of parts, it'll cost YOU A LOT!

Crucial Vacuum manufactures parts (filters, hoses, belts, etc) that fit the Dyson for typically 1/3 of the price & they have free shipping. They also have how-to videos on youtube to help you replace the part!

It broke and I need a new one.

Well, if it is 'broken', there are stores that repair them. If it was an expensive vacuum it may be worth checking out how much the repair will cost. Then, you can measure the cost of repairing or purchasing a new one. Most repair centers will not charge you for the repair estimate of cost. Look in the yellow pages or online for Sew-Vac stores or vacuum repair for a store near you. Good Luck!

How much will it cost to repair

Kinda hard to say. However take it to a vacuum repair shop that offers free estimates. This way you will get a price and if it's not your price shop around. Good luck. save some $$$$

Brush dosen't move

Brushes not moving are usually caused by the turbine bearing seized. This job requires the turbine to be removed, completely dissassembled, cleaned new bearings and then re assembled and installed. The tank is another part, if your tank does in fact need replacement then the normal cost is between 45-60 dollars. Even if he completely replcaed the turbine, those cost about 35-45 dollars. I do know that the new tank style (all clear) is made much better than the original (2 color). This model is a good one. you are getting to the 50% of cost for a new model. if you get this one fixed make sure they install a gasket under the turbine, to prevent further issues.

I need the locations of dyson service centers

If you call dyson at 1-866-693-9766 they will give you a list of locations near you. And if there aren't any locations near you they will help you arrange to ship it directly to them(don't know about the cost of shipping it though). Good luck.

Miele S514 Solaris Electro - won't turn on

I don't have the exact same model as you guys, but maybe my situation is similar to yours. My Miele Silver moon model won't turn on one day. I took it to a Miele authorized repair shop ( they all offer free estimate on finding the problem first, then they will tell you what the repair cost will be). They said my vacuum cord reel shim was damaged. The damage was caused by over stretching the cord while I vacuumed. According to them the shim is kind of like a clip that holds the cord inside the vacuum. When the shim is damaged, the cords are pulled apart and electricity can no longer pass through. That would expalin why it won't turn on. The repair cost was not too bad, it costed forty-six dollars. I hope this helps.

I can see that the cable is broken that controls the self propelled motor. But I can't figure out how to remove the top cover that will give me access to repair. Any thoughts?

1 Other User Has the Same Problem Comment by Dr_Jake, posted on Apr 19, 2008 I also have a broken cable (or one that has come loose) and cannot find a manual to describe how to get to the lower end of the cable to make the repair. Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
Hoover U6616-900 Windtunnel Bagless Upright
I would contact either the local vac dealer or to contact the Hoover Factory or Manufacturer to get the owner’s manual to get an exploded view of the self propelled cable or have the email or fax the information that you need, but they should be able to send you an owner’s manual so you can try to fix it yourself. You don’t want to exceed the repairs cost to the price of what you paid for it. The decision should be yours, example: if the repairs costs are $200.00 and you paid $279.99 then @ that point you would have to decide if the repair costs are worth or do you want to pay the lower cost of repair and continue on. Just a suggestion... You may want to check with your local vac dealer. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
