Refrigerator not defrosting?

you are describing a problem that has 2 causes at the same time;
if your drain tube is freezing up, you usually have a defective drain heater, easy. to replace.
the warming up is due to accumulation of frost on the evaporator.
the defrost system contains 3 components - defrost heater, defrost thermostat and defrost timer. First try to advance the timer into the defrost cycle, if you hear crackling in the freezer and it start to defrost, you have a bad timer (very common problem) if not, you must check the defrost heater and thermostat or just replace both...

good luck

Frigidaire side by side model # FRS20ZRGW3 coils freeze up on freezer side, fridge side gets warm

You have a defrost timer behind the front kick plate turn it clockwise slowly until compressor and fans stop. Once this happens the timer should remain off for 30 minutes and the defrost heater should come on during the first 15 minutes. If after 30 minutes the defrost timer part=> 215846602 Defrost Timer Assembly should come out of defrost and the compressor and fans should restart, if not advance the timer clockwise until they start and replace timer. Try that first and tell me what your results are. If that is not the problem then we can narrow this down to the defrost heater=> 218657301 Defrost Heater or 5303917954 Defrost Thermostat How to test the defrost heater is found on same page as the defrost heater. If you have any questions I will be here to help you, Thanks Sea Breeze

Ref/Freezer will not defrost. Keeps freezing up inside both unit

one of three components have failed, either the defrost timer, defrost thermostat or the defrost heater. Find the timer and turn it into a defrost, you should hear the heat crackling in the freezer section. This is a problem easily fixed by a technician

My freezer coil keeps freezing up. I replaced the

In the freezer coil is a defrost heater coil, and a defrost thermostat. You have to expose the freezer coil to find them. If your local dealer can't get parts, I get mine from Repairclinic.com.

Freezer drain

I thinkyou just need to take a look at replacing the defrost timer. Sounds to me as if the defrost timer is malfunctioning. It's an inexpensive part considering the cost of replacing an burned out unit or even a reapirman bill. Check into that first, let me know if you require more assistance.
