There's no air flow in my oven. The bottoms of cakes and muffins, etc. bake before the tops.

I don't have a microwave, I have an oven. Does the same solution apply? You seem to have responded to a microwave problem.

Hi,

Sometimes your GE range/oven parts, Thermador parts, and Jennair parts just need time to operate properly. Many people expect a gas stove to behave like an electric model and heat up right away. Did you know that it can take up to three minutes to ignite and heat? That said, if your gas stove takes any longer than this, chances are you have an igniter that is going bad and needs to be replaced. Don't allow a bad igniter to operate indefinitely, replace it as soon as possible. In the meantime, make sure your kitchen area is well-ventilated when trying to diagnose the problem, time out how long it is taking for this range/oven part to ignite the gas, etc. You could also have a problem with the gas flame. It needs to wrap around a range/oven part known as the thermocouple bulb. If the gas flame is not wrapping the upper third of the flame around the bulb it needs to be adjusted. Make sure you have a well-ventilated kitchen before adjusting this Jennair part, GE range/oven part, etc.

Hope i helped you.

DO RATE THE SOLUTION.

Thanks for using "Fixya".

It is cause by the carousel not working properly. Although the carousel is usually driven by a small motor that's unrelated to the heating function of the microwave, the microwave cabinet needs to be opened to repair it. So we recommend that you seek the assistance of a qualified appliance repair technician. Inspect the plastic drive coupling that the tray sits on, as well as the ring-and-roller assembly, to make sure that they're working properly.

Good lucks:

Why does food burn on bottom in my accurate oven?

Hard to say. If you are baking, lift the rack one level and use parchment paper to protect it. It seems to work for me.

Why does the bottom of my cakes burn before the center is done?

Because your oven gets too hot on the bottom part. Use a rack to position your cake in the centre of the oven or - if the bottom of the cake still burns - insert a baking tray between the bottom of the oven and the rack on which you bake the cake on.

The damn cakes and muffins for the easy rise oven will not rise for me oh yeah and where do I find the cake and additional cupcake accessories for this toy in canada

The muffin is controlled by using magnets. Get any magnet and put it on the bottom part of the muffin and the muffin should inflate. If not, you can remove the bottom plate on the bottom and manually remove the plunger inside.

Disney magic rise oven--the cake things will not rise. Her grandmother gave it to her assembled but with no instructions or batteries. Now that I have the batteries in I can hear the chime noise that...

Keep repositioning, it takes anywhere from 5 to 30 seconds. There are no special instructions, just make sure the circle on the bottom of the cake is lined up with the circle in the middle of the oven. Oh if you have the magic rise kitchen, you need to buy the oven (just read another review). We got the oven from Wal-Mart and ours works...also double check the batteries to make sure they're new. I think this is a cheaply made toy (it seems anything with the Disney name is ) because it's brand new and already they're on sale everywhere...I have to find the cake and cupcakes that are sold separately somewhere here in Canada...

KitchenAid Oven Temp.- Bottomside of Pizza or Cake stays uncooked

I have a 2yo Kitchenaid oven, and my advice is first, don't use convection for cakes or pizza. Use the thermal oven. For pizza preheat to 500 degrees, then put the pizza on the lowest rack, and bake for 7-8 minutes. This way the bottom browns, and the top doesn't get broiled from the top element coming on during the bake cycle.

As for cakes, again place them on the low rack so that they get bottom heat. I keep my eye on the oven and when the broil element comes on I stick a piece of foil over the cake until it goes off. Otherwise it will set the top and the cake won't rise as much. Even doing that cakes don't rise as much as they did in my old oven, and they brown too much on top.

The convection oven does a good job of cookies, and the broil mode is okay.

I wish I hadn't bought this oven, but I didn't know about the upper (broil) element coming on during the bake cycle until I'd had it for awhile, and it was too late to return it.

If anyone's shopping for an oven, ask questions, and don't get one that maintains the oven temperature by activating the broil element when baking.

Cake texture is course and bottom of cake underbaked

Did you recently change either mixers or brand of any ingredients?

Also, you could be getting heat from only the TOP element. Turn the oven on and look at both. The bottom should be brighter than the top for regular baking.

Kenmore electrical oven

Trying to better define the problem....

Do you have any cuts, holes or "shorting" or tin-foil/aluminum around your bottom bake heat-element? If so, you may need to replace the baking Heat Element. (Ensure you do not use aluminum foil around your heat element to prevent your oven from getting dirty)

To replace your baking heat element, with power off; remove 2 screws securing the bake element. Slightly tug and pull towards you for about 3 inches or so and disconnect the connecting wires at each end. Then completely remove the heat element and install new in reverse manner. Whats' you're model number?
