Question about Computers & Internet
I have an hp tx1205us laptop. one of the two dual core processers is alway busy (>85%). Is something wrong?
Maybe. That's a lot of cpu useage. You didn't state the OS you are using. Is it Vista? That can be a cpu hog. Do a Ctrl/alt/delete and choose task manager. Click on the PROCESSES tab and you will see a list of all processes running. Click on the CPU heading once or twice and it will order all the processes based on useage. The top one should give you a clue as to what process is using the machine. Sometimes the browser running on a particular web site can just **** the machine to its knees. Anyway, that should give you a pretty good clue as to what is using up the cycles. You can then google on that process name if you wish to find out what it is doing. You could have some spyware running that is giving you trouble.
