Question about Canon Pixma MP500 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Wont print the whole page

It's almost like my mp500 doesn't get all the information into the memory. It doesn't print the whole page and won't print all pages. Stops after the first page and doesn't even get all of that page. Any ideas what i can do to fix this problem. I checked the settings and properties and everything seems fine but i could be wrong. Thanks for your help!

Re: wont print the whole page

Let me guess. The warranty ran out about 3 months ago, right? From what you describe, it's time for a new printer.

My pixma mp500 is skipping lines when printing

If you have refilled with non genuine ink this could be the problem. Or you could test print a few pages in case there is a blockage

Here is the link to the support page for the mp500; sorry i cant give you a direct link to the instructions, but if you type "print head cleaning" into the "please enter your question" box (on the support and service tab), then it will take you through the whole procedure, including what to do if the different cleaning procedures do not work. This should resolve your problem, please ask again if you are having trouble still. you can also get the user manual if you prefer to read the instructions in there, available under the "drivers and downloads" tab. Hope this helps :)

Won't print black, prints every other colour ok

1. try to cleaning head
2. remove the black cartridge only, (if it doesn,t changed after you cleaned head)
3. provide some warm/hot water on a bowl or plate.
4. enter the HEAD of black cartridge in to hot water. soak with depth about 2mm up to 5mm. while you see the ink is come out....
5. after the black ink has come out. pat dry with a paper towels/tissue.
6. replace the cartridge in to printer.
7. cleaning head again and print test page
good luck....

Does the canon pixma mp 500 printer recognize sdhc memory cards?

No, it doesn't support SDHC, the following card types are supported by Canon MP500 :
CompactFlash®, Micro Drive®, SmartMedia®, Memory Stick®, Memory Stick Pro ™, SD Card™ and MultiMediaCard™
And these are the cards which can be used with respective adapters:
xD-Picture Card™, Memory Stick Duo™ Memory Stick Duo Pro™, miniSD™ card
Hope this helps.

Good Luck.

I can't fit a document to page when printing

In the program you are using to create your document, go to file, page setup first. Set this and then go to the print dialogue box and do your thing!

Canon MP500 printer

We have the same problem. I removed the cartridges, then removed the print head. There was lots of ink gunk on the print head. I cleaned it and the problem disappeared completely for a few days but is now back. I suspect the print head needs to be replaced. Still working on it.

I suspect this is not the printer problem. The problem may be the operating system issue. (Memory management)

Printing problem

This error message indicates that the printer memory is full. You might be sending too many documents to print at the same time. I would suggest dividing the number of documents/pages into smaller groups so the printer can take the load. Hope this helps!
