Click above, then scroll down to AUDIO. That should be your audio driver for the Thinkpad T40 2373... just download and install.

Click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll to display adapters + to expand you might see a yellow question mark ? or exclamation mark ! or a red x right click select reinstall drivers
if your computer came with a motherboard disk the drivers could be on it
or you might download one
