My domena steam press leaves brown stains on my

My domena steam press leaves brown stains on my clean laundry how can this be prevented?

  • denday23 May 01, 2016

I had similar problem and after trying lots of things found it to be the form under their silver cover! As it got damp after 10 mins or.
I removed the cover and form then tried it with a clean white towel folded into 3 turned it on and tried it again all was fine so I washed the old sponge/ form let it dry and replaced the cover. All was fine for around an hour or so.
I have now ordered of Ebay a new cover complete.
Fingers crossed that will solve the brown stains.

Why is brown water coming out of my iron

Hello, Josephine -

If you have not cleaned the steam iron water reservoir often, you need to clean it.

See the video here:

Plus, ALWAYS use distilled water in your steam iron.

How can I get my Domena SP400 steam press to produce steam

Blockage " mineral deposits" get a de-scalar and follow the directions. Only use distilled water in steam iron.
Sometimes vinegar will work depending on mineral deposits causing blockage.

We have a GC8420 steam iron. The steam is regularly discoloured, first a pink, chalky stain - very difficult to get out of fabrics - and today a lot of dark brown/black water coming out. We do empty out...

Hi, Brown water and whitescale are often the result of the water you use in the iron... If you have scale, white vinegar will clean that... For brown water, empty the iron, rinse out the insides with bottled water, and then use the bottled water instead...

Brown coming through holes and there is a funny odor.

Tell us what water you have been adding to the iron over the years?
Often times our household drinking water is 'hard' or has iron in trace amounts in it- While it may not be toxic to our bodies-- when you boil it off in the steaming process, the minerals remain behind, and make a brown or dirty residue in the chamber. That residue will often 'bleed' out into the passages of the steam holes.
Have you ever used Vinegar to try to clean out the chamber?
Tho this might helb get rid of the residue-- it does tend to move the debris into the steam passageway-
So-- unless you have some way of spending considerable time and effort cleaning it out-- It may ruin more white shirts in the process than it is worth.
Note: Using distilled water will extend the life of a steaming iron-- but eventually, even the best treated Steam iron will need to be replaced!
