Hi, it could be that your cd/dvd writer is struggling to read the disk. There is a no cd/dvd patch available on the internet. I will only encourage this if you have an original sims2 disk.
Best wishes,

Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

Here's a link to this great service

Good luck!

How to reduce ddessktop icon size?

hey wassup

theres two ways you can go at this.

1. right click on an open area on ur desktop and just adjust the icons when u hover over the [view] option

2.make sure ur desktop is the only thing visible and give it one click on an open space just to make sure nothing is selected. then hit ctrl+&
at this point to test if it's working. hold ctrl then start to move your mousewheel on your mouse and the icons will start to all magically increase and decrease in size

now option #1 is a bit more easy and its static
while option#2 is a bit more dynamic and you can really make your icons really big or really small. it's up to you.

I tried normal but it didn't work so I tried safe mode and it din't work The mouse icon stays there then the computer goes off then I click the mouse and it goes back on the login screen never pop up

Restart your computer During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup usually the Delete or F2 key this will vary depending on your computer and operating system Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS using the arrow keys load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart. Hope this helps.

I am getting the spinning wheel for forever when i boot up and my computer is very slow now and keeps going back to the spinning wheel. I have a mac osx and i have plenty of disk space. I think i...

Oh no, you got the spinning wheel of death!!
Take your RAM chips out and re-insert firmly and see if that don't do the trick. If not, then get gray disc 1 out of the 2 disc set. Put disc 1 into your laptop and let it load. Now power down with the disc still installed. Now press power button and let go and then press the option button until you see your hard drive icon and the install disc icon show up on the screen. The option button is on the left lower side next to the Apple button. Move your pointer over to the disc icon and press down on the mouse pad to select. Now press enter or move your mouse over to the right arrow and click on it. Your disc will start spinning and loading. Select English as the install or whatever language you speak. Then go to the top screen and select utilities and then select disk utilities. Now go look down and select the repair disc permissions and let the computer do it's thing. When thats done go over to the right side and select repair disc. When thats done you can quit and power down. Did that help any? Well then, select system preferences, accounts, select your account by tapping on it with the mouse pointer, select login items, now select each program in the box and press delete. Your not actually deleting the programs-your just preventing them from starting up when you power on, because they are resource hogs and not necessary for boot up. See if that don't do the trick. Still see the spinning wheel of death? Replace bad RAM chips with good RAM chips and make sure they are specific to your Mac. Anything? Well then, you will have to replace the hard drive and re-install the operating system. Still nothing? Afraid to say it old chap, but your fu.ked and in need of a new logic board. If your under warranty- just take it back to the Apple store and have the Apple dorks look into it.

Cheers old chap.

I put my brand new game, the sims 2 double deluxe, disc into the drive and my computer is a windows xp, nothing asks me if i want to install the game or anything! please help, i really want to play my game!

Enter the "My Computer" icon on your desktop. From there you should find an icon named sims 2 or an abbreviation of that. Then right click on that and click autorun, if nothing happens right click then click open. Then look for a file named SETUP or a file with setup in it.

  1. my computer
  2. Sims2
  3. right click on autorun or open and find the setup file

Screen comes on, disk turns, loading starts, and doesnt stop

With the power turned off, open the DVD Player, and then open the top where you load the DVD into the player. Locate the laser lens and notice that the laser is attached to a transport assembly that moves the laser diagonally outward in a slot. 1. Slide this assembly outward to the end of its track. 2. Slide the assembly back inward to the closest inward position. 3. Repeat the process of sliding the assembly outward and then back inward.4. Put in a music CD and let it play all the way through. This helps to calibrate the laser head assembly movement. When the music CD is finished playing. 5. Put in a DVD, and you should have a working unit again This is a factory solution from Mintek that was given to a customer who ask for help with the forever loading disc problems. This solution may work on other models of portable DVD players. Most portable DVD players use this type of transport mechanism. Try this solution it might work for you.
