Condensation on the strip between the 2 french doors

I have a brand new (4 months old) french door Amana fridge. We are getting condensation build up on the black "flapper" between the 2 doors, which is dripping down through the freezer seal, and creating ice on the top inside of the freezer door. A tech came out to look at it, and didn't find anything wrong (!), but heated and remolded the seals. The problem was back the very next day. The tech also stated that some condensation there was not abnormal, because there is a "heater" in that strip. (?) This is to help the fridge maintain temp., supposedly. Anyway, I am calling them to come back, because this does not seem normal to me, but I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this situation and how they solved it.

We just bought a Kenmoe Elite french door fridge. Condensations was also accumulating between the french doors and dripping onto the freezer door. There is a heater in the "flapper" between the doors which was not working. I was told that the heat will keep condensation from forming. They fixed the heater and there's no condensation. My question is: why is condensation forming in the first place? Is it due to poorly sealing gaskets and loss of cold air from the fridge?

These fridge have a heater in that black flaper to prevent condensation. It is probably not working or not even plugged...do they removed the doors when they delivered your fridge??? remove the uper left cap of the hinge, the connection is there...... the tech must check that piece if it is well plugged..

I'm getting frost and ice build up on the bottom and back of the fridge compartment on my LG French door fridge.

To me This is on all Makes and models build up of frost means warmer humid air is entering into colder air this will cause a frost build up from entrance of warm air coming in so your looking at your air flow in all compartments of your ref, freezer so on.
blocked air will give false readings to sensors when compartment is asking for lower temp colder temp will be noticed.
bad or obstructed door seals door not closing properly
Follow your frost line it will point the way.

I have a samsung french door refrigerator that is only 20 months old and it just started making a very loud humming noise that is coming from the back/top of the fridge. It stops when you open the fridge...

Hi David,

There's a big chance that the evaporators fan touching ice and that's why you hear that noise, if you have an ice build up you gonna have to defrost the fridge and test components to see which one has failed.

Thanks

Amana fridge. french door ice maker now seems to freeze overflow of water so i'm using hair dryer frequently to remove the clog. why is this starting

Your defrost assembly has probably stopped working, which means that you are probably also building up ice in between the panels.

Frost on back wall of freezer

There is a door that is not closing 100% of the time. There is warm moist air entering the fridge and building up on the back wall.

Make sure all doors are closing. Sometime the bottom door will close on one side but not the other.

Good Luck.

Amana French Door fridge not cooling

you have a problem here
you need to get the secondary defrost kit installed
it is not the jazz board
unless he is not programming it right aftwer install
but check your back wall for frost
if you have frost you have an airflow issue
whats happening is the door is being left ajar even a 1/16 gap is an issue
when hot air enters the unit fromn the gap it condenses on the diverter behind the freezer wall
after a few weeks it builds up enought o cause problems
there is a kit you can get that will divert electrical heat to the diverter and keep it warm enough to defrost it there by never having the issue again

Water build up on inside of fridge door of ge french door fridge

humid air in the house. any time you open the fridge, house air is sucked in. when you close it, the fridge cools the air and moisture from the warm air condenses on any cold surface. also check to see if there is a gap in the seal.
