Loud buzzing on Wahl "Designer" model clippers

I have a very loud buzzing and vibration now from these clippers. I have taken the blades off and taken the cover off in search of anything visibly wrong with it, but don't see anything. It is a vibrating electric mechanism. Can anyone help?

There is a "power screw" located on the side of the clipper opposite the switch. This may need adjusting. Take a screw driver or coin....and with the unit running......turn the screw back and forth until the clipper stops making noise. The proper position for the most power is to turn the screw intil it makes a loud noise, then turn it back just enough to get rid of it.

I have the same problem. I bought mine from the States and am in Australia. I am using a step down transformer. The more I tighten the power screw on the clippers, the more silent it gets, but the blades then don't work because of the pressure on them. Anything less and it's unbearably noisy, my ears are still ringing! Could this due to the different power supply?

Worked for me in UK. Thanks. I suppose it's possible that the different power frequencies could have an effect. It's 50cps AC in the UK.

My clippers just stopped working...just gives a light buzz

oil your blade after each use. on the side there is a blade adjustment setting. after you oil the blade turn your clipper on, turn the set screw out a few turns till the blade is free. Then turn back in till it makes a loud clacking noise. Then u will back out the set screw till the baldes stop clacking and keep oiled well.

WAHL model MC. Very loud (mechanical) buzz when on. May be clipper blade out-of-adjustment (?) Do not have instruction manual on how to adjust.

Should have a flat head screwdriver handy... on the side of the clipper there is a dial where you can insert the tip of the flat head.. Turn on the clippers and turn that knob with the screwdriver slowly till it hums nice and even..

I have a Wahl 79524-6001 hair cutting trimmer. Everything was working fine during a trim and then it immediatly became SCREAMING LOUD. Usually just a nice buzz. I adjusted the black screw and...

Be sure that you have oiled the blades per the manufacturer instructions. This is essential.

The noise you've described is usually due to a problem with the blade tension. You're in the right area with the screw but it sounds like you've over-tightened it causing the blades to not move. The correct way to adjust the tension is to turn the screw clockwise with the clipper running. When the blades begin to make a chattering sound, back the screw back by a quarter turn

Wahl designer clippers cutting skin. Has a new blade.

The overlap of the "top blade" in relation to the "bottom blade" is set too close. The top blade has to be back a little bit to prevent this from happening. When changing blades this may have got set wrong. Loosen the two screws holding the bottom blade on and you can move the bottom blade in relation to the top blade to fix this.

Have you been oiling the blades? If you ran out of oil you can use any light machine oil available at any hardware store. If you feel comfortable opening the unit you will be able to see the electromagnet inside and watch what is going on. If all else fails Buy a new set (the exact kind) and keep the receipt. Swap them out and return it from the store where you purchased it. You paid good money for them and they should not have died so quickly. The store will get full credit for it when they return it to the manufacturer so it is not that morally bad. The manufacturer should bare the burden because of the poor quality control that allowed your clipper to die in such a short period of time. Hope you find this solution helpful and the last option is a surefire fix...
