Canon pixma mx700 error code 5010

At startup we have this problem ( error code 5010 ) and there is a clacking noise coming from the cable / tape inside the printer. Problem is there is no visible way of opening the printer up to get more info on the problem and we cant print anything. All advice is apprheciated.

5010 is a scanner error from the scanner on top. Canon has no parts for these and you can only replace the entire top of your machine. If you can get it apart, you might clean and lube, but it's not made to be opened.
