Question about Canon MP610 Photo All-In-One Printer
Canon MP610.I am going to purchase a set of inks. Should I buy the much cheaper compatible or stick with the canon? Thanks
You need to be a bit careful when buying compatible inks for the Canon printers because really cheap/bad inks can eventually clog up the print head nozzles. On some printers the print heads are part of the ink cartridges and are therefore replaced each time new cartridges are installed, but with Canon there is only one permanent print head unit. If it gets clogged it can be cleaned out (there is information available to do this if you Google or search FixYa), but if that isn't successful you will need to spend at least $50+ for a new print head unit or throw your printer out.
If you're going to go with compatible inks my best advice is to choose a good brand and don't change to other brands as this will surely clog the print heads quicker.

The generic inks don't hurt your machine at all, but I find that the colors arent as good and bright as the Canon inks.
