If you have been making posts on facebook that they object to, then they could cancel your account. If you have not posted anything objectionable, contact facebook by phone or through someone else's facebook account.

Google homepage default

What is your browser? Each browser has different methods of fixing this. It is also possible you have a type of malware that forces specific search engines and homepages on you, and takes over your browser. I'd install malwarebytes if you haven't already and spybot search and destroy. Run both of them and remove any viruses, malware, and hijackware from your computer.

If it is internet explorer: Go to internet options under control panel. Change your default search engine here, your default homepage, etc. If it's IE 11 or newer you can fix this in the browser's options. If you see a URL in the homepage url that you didn't choose, you have hijackware. Uninstall the hijackware via control panel program features. You should also delete the settings and reset them to default. Then run antivirus, anti-malware, etc.

If it's Firefox go to options(via the drop down menu on the left side of the search field next to the URL field. It should look like a little downward pointing arrow). Click the option "manage search engines" You should see a list of search engines. Move Google to the top of the list. As a homepage, go to the "stacked bar" pull down menu on the far right side of the browser (right under the X out button). This will give you a drop down, click Options under this menu and it will open a new window with several tabs. On the first tab called "general" you'll see Startup and a drop down menu. This will allow you to choose if Firefox, when opened anew, starts with a blank page, a homepage, or from where it last started up. Click homepage and in the field below this drop down menu type in google's url. If you see anything else here and you didn't put it in, you have hijackware on your computer.

If it's Chrome, click on the drop down menu on the far right side (three black stacked lines) click settings. This will open a new tab in Chrome with History, Extensions, Settings, and About on the left side. You'll be in the "Settings" option. On which you'll see "Sign In" with the option of logging into your google account. "Startup" or "On Startup" with three options "Open The New Tab Page, Open where you left off, Open a Specific Page or Set of Pages.[This option should have a "Set pages" in blue next to it]. Click Set Pages. This should open a new window that whites out the background window. If a page has been set without your permission it will have a URL appear here. This means you have hijackware on your computer. If it's blank you can set google as your homepage by entering its URL here. However, with Google Chrome, if you set "open The New Tab" option it should just open a blank Tab with Google Search as the primary option. Below this you'll find "Manage Search Engines" make sure that your default search engine is Google. If it's "Ask" and you didn't set this yourself, you have Hijackware on your computer. As a last resort, click the blue lettered "Advanced Settings" which extends the settings menu. At the bottom of the settings menu you'll see "Reset Settings" which brings Chrome back to default.

If you do have hijackware it has probably installed itself as an extension. Go through your extensions and make sure that nothing is out of place. No search extensions, no new weirdly named extensions, no "helper" extensions or search bars were installed. If they were, uninstall them by clicking the trashcan icon next to it.

Google Chrome opens blank page when searching through a "new tab"

That can be an indication that there is a problem with an Chrome app or an extension causing problems with a search. Sometimes when the DNS servers screw up you can be redirect to your home page (which may be blank). Lastly, it might be a domain highjack.

Best solution is to insure that all the extensions you have loaded might not be the problem. You do this first by going to google.com or to the web search engine of your choice. Try your search from there. If it still does it then it is a web/router issue. If you get your information then there is a conflict within Chrome.

If you are on Linux, try to purge and re-install the package. If you are using Beta then there could be a host of issues involved which are beyond your control. Get a stable version.

If you are Windows check to see what is active in your extensions. Disable what you do not need (or remove them) and try again.

Lastly, your internet service provider might be causing an issue. Either due to the volume of traffic, the type of search you are using, or simply because they are a cable based ISP - and we all know how that goes.

My guess is a conflict with something your browser ate (an extension or app). Again, check with the web page version to see if there is an issue and manage accordingly.

How can i remove movs search engine that keeps being the start page in google chrome?

Click on the Spanner Symbol on the top right handside to 'Customize and Control Google Chrome' -> select 'Options' -> Change 'Home page' URL for 'Open this page' to what you want or to just 'about:blank' (without the quotes).

You can also modify your 'Search' engine default on that same 'Options' page.

Hope it helps!

Yahoo and Google Search Not Working

Hi

If you restored your computer, you may have destroyed some of the files needed by Yahoo and Google search engines. The easiest way to resolve this is to download and reinstall both the Yahoo and Google search engines.

Good Luck

I get oops! This link appears broken. Happens with Google and Google Chrome. Could it be a virus? I also cannot search msn.com using Bing?

No, it is probably not a virus. Links are addresses for other pages that may not be typed correctly, or the web site/page was moved or no longer exists. (See below for clarification on unexpected results.) If you use MS Explorer, it allows you to choose primary search engines. After updating Explorer, you can keep Google as primary, but Bing will be easily accessed by clicking on the Google Icon in the search box. A menu will drop down and show Bing as an option. Also, you should be able to type Bing into any search engine and search from the Bing homepage. If you are clicking on a bing search on the MSN home page and being blocked, I'll betcha Microsoft would love to know that. Lastly, there is such a thing as Browser Hijackers. If you click on something or suddenly find yourself in an unexpected place after using a trusted search engine, that would be a hint. The solution is to keep all software updated to avoid lapses in security that allow Bugs into your system.

Search being rerouted to Gateway/Google search engine home screen

Go to add/remove programs and remove anything that reads google. It will probably read something like google tool bar or search. If you don't use it you won't miss it, and removing it will stop it from overriding the search engine you do use. If you need any more help let me know.
