Fuse box diagram.
Fuse box is under the dash behind the steering wheel.

Here ya go

LOOk on the top of the steering box in the middle there is a stud with a nut threaded onto it this is the adjustmemt for steering wheel play . Loosen the nut and take a stright head screw driver put it in the slot in the stud and turn it in . rembember you should have an inch or so free play in the steering wheel this will tighten it up then tighten the nut back down

pick up a chilton book from chapters indago and check the diagrams they might be similar but i believe the wiring is a lot different '
it is likely you will need both manules

check belt tensioner pulley for worn bearings.check that belt is not worn beyond serviceable length,has cracks or is frayed.

need to replace the sensor at base of colum steering wheel sensor

If the knocking sound is coming from the steering wheel area itself, then I believe it's the nylon bushing in the steering colum. My friend had the same problem with his truck. The other trucks we work on at the shop seem to have this common problem.

If it's sounds like its outside the truck, have the tie rod ends checked out.
