You should have a remote control to change channels. If you wish to buy its original remote control, contact the authorized service centre, or authorized dealer to your device brand. They can either give you a genuine remote control to your device, or can direct you, from where can you purchase a suitable one.
To select a proper universal remote control, you should know about the number of digits to its set-up codes. There are 3 digit, 4 digit, 5 digit, 2 digit and even single digit codes, to some brand devices. After confirming this, check the sites linked here. Both the sites have set-up code list and set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Check which brand remote control has set-up code/s to your device brand, and buy that one according to availability? Brand name of the remote control isn't a matter, but it should have set-up codes in its code list, to the device brand you have.
Please note: Every new universal remote control will have set-up code list, and set-up procedure along with its pack. Never accept a remote control, that hasn't both of this. For more details about the set-up codes, visit the site http://electrohelponline.blogspot.com/ Check this site too. http://remotesearch.blogspot.com/ Universal remote controls are available at most of the electronic spare part selling shops.

SOURCE: new dvr receiver, remote will not recognize

Just looked at it, you need to find the dvr device in the list of devices in the software. Go to Customize Buttons, and at the bottom right there is a Learn Command button you need to click.

Hope this helps!

Model VWM-290 VCR THAT HAS RF-30 CODE

RF codes are generally associated with older VCR's that used to output signals via the TV aerial system. It's when you used to tune the TV to the VCR channel. I think if you press a couple of numbers such as 4 and 9 on the remote it will then say RF-49. In which case if you have an old analogue tuner on your TV you could then tune it to channel 49 and see the VCR picture. Generally it's no longer used for the reason of digital TV, but also due to the fact you could not get a stereo sound with it and the picture wasn't as good as via a scart socket.

I cant figure out how to change the channel to input/video on my broadband tv without a remote

This problem may be more complex than just the selection of a channel to receive video. The first problem is what channel to receive the video. Usually its received on channel 3 or 4. You select that on the video output and match it on the TV. That assumes your recorder is attached via the RF (antenna) connection. If its hooked up via the component connect then you must have a remote to select IN1 or IN2 on the TV to receive video. Remote controls are available on line. Do a search on your TV model and remote control.

How do i manually program my channels on older tv without a remote

Nothing you can do without the original remote. One cannot get into the setup pages. Replacement remotes usually don't work on this point either. They are missing this special setup button. In order to watch DVD, VCR, connect them with a SCART cable. When you switch on the player, the TV will detect this and go automaticaly to this input. If connected with RCA plugs, you can choose the input with the program Up/Dwn buttons on the TV set itself, going "lower" than channel 1.

Have had digital installed and cannot get tv to work through digital. Any advice?

Hello
Thei Orion model Tv is not equipped with a digital tuner inside. There is only an analogue tuner fitted and only analogue channels can be received by this set. To get digital channels, you have to buy one settop box, which can convert digital signals to analogue signals. In short, a Digital to Analogue Converter should be bought, if you want to get digital channels. OK.

Can the LG 990W VHS VCR receive digital TV signal

VCR is analogue, However you can still use it to record digital programmes when connected via a digital set top box. You can only record the channel you have selected on the screen. In other words, you cannot record a channel programme while watching another channel. I use mine on a second TV and when recorded I take the tape out and put it into my main TV for viewing at a later date. I don't watch too much TV so it works fine for me for the odd programme.

HOW DO I CONNECT A VCR AND WHAT DO i SET THE INPUT ON.

If you have connected using the coax (aerial) ten the problem will be that the vcr is analogue and the tv is digital(if you have an older digital tv it should have an analogue tuner so you can set it to analogue and tune to the vcr) I suggest using a scart cable from the vcr to the tv, then you just press av on the remote(on some you can just change the channel down from 1 to the av inputs).

RCA TV/VCR combo T13060GY won't go below channel 5

I had a similar trouble with a couple of tv sets, one was a Granada and the other a Sony, but once connected to the satellite or digi-box via the scart socket it seemed to concentrate it's mind and override all the channels - so the tv stops being a tv set but becomes a monitor displaying whatever analogue video signal the digi-box sends to it.

The channels should arrive from the satellite receiver/decoder box and that remote control is all you need and the only thing you need to touch the monitor tv for will be the volume...

Scart sockets and plugs are apt to become dirty and unreliable and are responsible for many problems, including once a blue screen.

Have cable tv and wanting to tape a certain channel

I would suggest that you disconnect the VCR from any signal source. UNPLUG the VCR from the power source [a/c] for at least one hour, more if possible. Before you are ready to plug the machine into a/c attach an antenna to the antenna INPUT, the VCR output goes to input of tv. [ DON'T attach cable box, or any such machine to the input of VCR.] Plug vcr into outlet and turn ON. Place TV-VCR switch on TV. [no remote control??] Change the channel MANUALLY, one channel at a time. If you see tv stations as you change the channel [KEEP changing until you have reached the " end of the line " of broadcast channels.] then you are good.Connecting the vcr to a cable box[ANY KIND!] you can only RECORD through the vcr what you watch on cable.
