Speaker is too soft, even with sp-phone on, not loud enough to hear.
There is a volume button on the phone to increase(up arrow) and to decrease(down arrow). Keep pressing the up arrow to increase the volume till you can hear clearly either with speaker or without speaker.

I had the same problem with two of these handsets. I am not certain of the cause, but based on the fix, I believe water got into the microphone holes and perhaps mixed with a water soluble glue that stuck the felt cover to the microphone. I fixed the problem by removing the battery, opening up the phone (slide the battery cover off and removed the 4 screws) and snapped open the plastic encasement. Then I remove the two screws toward the top (toward antenna) of the circuit board. This gave me access to the microphone which is on the underside of the circuit board (very bottom of the phone, below and on the opposite side of the plastic jumper for the battery) which had a thin black felt cover covered in a sticky residue that was covering the microphone diaphragm. I removed the felt and then used a cotton swab with rubbing alcohol to remove the residue from the diaphgragm. I used compressed dry air to remove any dust from the diaphgram. With the 2 screws, I secured the circuit board back in, snapped the plastic case back together. Then I finished off with putting 4 screws in the case and putting the battery in. Now other parties can hear me just like they used to when the phone was working.

Dear lowis
Check weather it requires an external power, if it requires then u need to supply it, else if it doesnt require an external power then it is the settings at the subscriber end, which we can not do anything unless we request or complain them. And it is not the fault with the instrument. But note that the instrument mechanism could be designed with a low amplification which means it has poor circuit.
SOURCE: Ringer is not loud enough when button all the way up.
THis problem is not fixed. I don't know how to fix it. That's why I asked you. I donot want to purchase your service, thank you. I want to know how to make the phone sound louder for an old lady I visit occasionally.
SOURCE: Meridian 7310 phone - any way to turn up volume on hold music???
Music on hold comes from an external box attached to the system cabinet. It should have a volume control on that box.
SOURCE: How do i increase the volume ob the receiver, not
When you are talking on the phone (or listening to a dial tone), the volume control works to control the volume of the receiver. When the phone is not being used, the volume control is used to control the volume of the ringer.
