I need to wire a silver salute mic to a cobra 142 gtl 5 pin what color wire goes towhat mic pin

dont go by colors.. go by what wires are on the switch and mic element.. mics can be rewired and no one told you the colors could have changed FYI..

Pin #1 ~ Audio
Pin #2 ~ Shield
Pin #3 ~ Receive
Pin #4 ~ Switch Wire
Pin #5 ~ Transmit

always go by connections not color of the wire. that way you learn and you can do any mic. to any radio.

Dont have one just purchased off ebay not sure how it all woks

NEVER buy a telescope off of Ebay or Craigslist unless you know exactly what you are buying. Most of the scopes sold there are cheap toy telescopes and some are simply unusable. Locate a local astronomy club and have the members help you with your telescope.

Cant see through the telescope and there are no instructions to tell where you put the focus knobs and what part you look through. Do you unscrew the silver plate?

You never said the model number of the telescope. Telescopes come in several different designs. Read this -- it may help you figure out your telescope, and the pictures may also help you.

Jeep Rubicon Outlook telescope 360X. While I was

Doubtful if you can get parts. Is this a new telescope? If it is return it.

Another possible solution may be to go to a well stocked hardware store and see if they have a bolt or pin that will work.

Read our telescope guide on our Astronomy club web site: The scope is very very small and will never acheive 360 power. I know it is only $69 but the rules for optics say a maximum of 50 times aperture. You front lens cannot be over 1.5 inches so if the optics were perfect and the sky was perfect about 75 power is the maximum possible magnification.

The telescope doesnt go up it goes down

I assume you are using the 497 hand controller? Planets will always be a little bit OFF since their orbits are calculated. You should be able to see Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn as a disk-- the other planets are very tiny and can be mistaken for a star.

Use the Automatic alignment feature and center the brightest nearest star. It will not be in the eyepiece. Be sure you calibrate motors, and train the drives, and the time, and date and site are accurate.

GoTo Problem

Be sure that the telescope is configured for EQ SOUTH mode to tell it is in the southern hemisphere. Once a star alignment is completed NEVER manually move the telescope. Use only the control panel to slew. Everytime the telescope is move by hand, the motors do not know it has been done, and assume it is still pointing at the old direction. Check the manual for setup.
