If you see an error that says Your account is on hold because of a problem with your last payment.

It indicates that Netflix was unable to collect a payment for one of the following reasons:

• The method of payment on file is no longer valid or has expired.
• Your financial institution did not approve the monthly charge.
• The payment information provided to Netflix.com does not match what your bank has on file.
• US Only: The credit card zip code on your Netflix account does not match the one listed with your bank.

For how long have you had Netflix? This is not a free service, it has never been. When you sign up they give you a month free, but even before signing up they ask for a payment method.

There is a link on the right of that page to Cancel Plan. You will need to login into your account.

If you cannot remember your login info Netflix's phone number is 1-866-579-7172.

I bet you tried their free month offer. If you do not cancel they assume you want to continue. They get a lot of money this way.

1. Log in to your netflix account
2. At the top right corner of the screen should be your name, hover your mouse over it and a menu will appear
3. In this menu, click "Your Account"
4. In the "Membership and Billing" section of this screen you will see your payment option, to the right of it you can click the link for "Update Payment Method"
