Question about Sanyo Audio Shelf Systems

Open Question

Factory reset when turned off.

My Sanyo stero keeps resetting to factory defaults when I turn it off. When I turn it back on, all preset radio stations are gone, and the 5 disk CD tray spins a full revolution. It didn't used to do this. I opened it up and looked inside for anything that jumped out at me as being a battery that I could replace, but couldn't see anything- though I wasn't sure what to look for.

The stereo is is about 10 years old, but it has special meaning to me so I don't want to replace it. Plus, other than this problem, it's a good quality unit. Any tips or help would be amazing! Thanks.

It's a Sanyo GCD 2000U CD Shelf Audio System

Yuo didnt mention if it was used or new,. If it was new I wouldnt mess with the unit and take it in under warranty, as there is no quicky fix for this one. Its going to turn out to be a problem with the disc motor servo circuit or the microprocessor. Good Luck

SOURCE: CD player fails to read CDs

Hi Everyone !
We got the same problem two month ago and we fix it. The problem is drying lubricate oil from elector motor which spin the cd disk. You need to open top cover its 5 screw , 4 an sides and 1 on back. Then you see black cd changer in side. You need to open top cover of cd changer by unlock plastic clips and slide cover. Under cd holder you can fined elector motor that spin cd. You just need two drops of lubricate oil on top bearing at electromotor. My works fine right now .
Good luck.

Look for a reset button at the back or may be at the front head of the cd changer. It is a very small 1mm hole.If you find it insert a paperclip in it,press and hold it for 1 min. This will reset the unit.If you still face the problem then just unplug all the cords of the changer for 1 hour and then plug it back in.

How can I fix a tv that has been reset to factory reset

Try resetting it again, resetting it should bring it back to the way you received it from the store. Unplug it first, then plug it back in, then try the factory reset.

Stuck in standby

You can reset all to factory settings, which may help; unplug power, put back in switch on with power button. Then press together "tape", "CD" and the power button. You may need to reset the clock before it will work. If you need the manual, here is the link; check page 26 for the reset if not clear - nothing else in there that seems to be related, but you may find something i missed. Hope this helps :)

My sony mhc lx10000 has no audio whenever the display reads speakers B ...HOW DO I RESET IT TO PLAY?

This is for model # MHC-LX10000. All of these answers are WRONG ! Do not listen to these. Its very simple, I had the same problem happen to me today and simply reset the system to the original factory settings. Here's how to do this and is very easy. It is mentioned in the user manual on Page 32. First unplug the power cord. Then plug it back in and turn on the system with the power button on the audio system. At the same time, press 3 buttons - the square/stop, ENTER and the Power buttons. The system gets reset to factory settings and the Speaker B will disappear. You will lose all your presets but the speakers will work once again. What a relief it was to me ! You can then set up your presets again. I wonder why with all these system support techs available here and bragging about how many years they have worked for Sony, none of them could mention this simple solution.

Try resetting the system to factory defaults

Radio turns on at midnight automatically, I do not have manual to unprogram this

To shut off the timer function (turns the unit on at a certain time):
Press the timer button (on the system itself) until the little clock icon disappears from the units display. This deactivates the timer.
Alternatively, you can reset the system to factory default (clear all user inputs and setting from memory)by:
Start with the power on
Turn the unit of using the power button.
Turn the unit on while pressing the Stop/Clear button.

Here is a link to a PDF version of the manual free to download:

I can't figure out how to change the presets on the radio

Some units have a reset on the back...stick a tooth pick in a small hole... some you hold 2 buttons down when you turn it on... and some you just overwrite with a new station...some you just unplug overnight...User manuel works wonders...

Kenwood KDC-W312S wont keep the saved channels after car restart

Check the yellow wire connection on your wiring harness... This is the wire that provides continuous power even when the ignition is off. This is how the radio remembers presets/time and such. Every time you turn off the car, the radio "resets" because you dont have the yellow wire connected to an ALWAYS HOT wire.

If you cannot find a hot wire, then you can run a wire from the yellow on the back of your radio directly to the positive terminal on your battery. Dont worry, it doesnt draw enough power to run your battery down.

Most cars have a cigarette lighter or power port somewhere that is always hot. You could always run the yellow wire off of one of these.

Just find a way to get the yellow wire on a hot wire and your stereo will remember the presets.

Stereo volume problem

You could try resetting to factory defaults. To locate the reset button, turn the main unit around and look at the back. The reset button should be at the bottom left.
First turn the unit on, then use a paper clip or something similar (because the button is very small) to hold the button in for 10 seconds and then let go. See if this solves the problem. If not, try the same thing but start with the unit off before pressing the reset.
If it still doesn't work, I don't think there's anything you can do...the unit might just come that way (particularly given that others have complained of the same problem!)
NOTE: If I've answered your question sufficiently, PLEASE PLEASE RATE ME "FIXYA"...(it helps my overall rating!) Thanks!

The default volume is set way too high on this radio. It is at 17 and we would like to reset it to a much lower level. How do I do this?
