Programmer or motor faulty

Try moving the progam on to Spin and see if it drains out

Once it is dry it should try to spin if not you are back to the two original options

If you have pressed start or pulled out the knob of the cycle unit and nothing happens I would be checking the operation of the water inlet solenoid . If it is not getting power or it is not opening the valve to allow filling to commence there will be no further action of the machine until the tub is filled to the desired level.

Won't Fill

Hello Ben - I understand your dishwasher has power but will not fill with water. Here are a few simple troubleshooting tips that may help you resolve this issue:
• Make sure water supply is turned on. (First check for shut off valve under the kitchen sink)
• Check the house circuit breaker or fuse box, reset circuit breaker or replace fuse.
• Verify the inlet hose and make sure it's not twisted.
• Does float overfill protector (mushroom shaped object in tub) move freely? This is located in the bottom left front corner of the dishwasher.
• Make sure the electrical wires going to the water inlet valve have not come off. It is best to turn off power to the dishwasher before reconnect wires, it doesn't matter which terminal is off both need to be connected.
• Confirm that the drain hose is installed correctly. If the drain hose is routed under the floor as the dishwasher fills water can be drawn from the tub and appear to have never filled.
• Some dishwashers use a water pressure switch that will shut off the water valve if the tub over fills.
If these assessment measures prove to be ineffective, I would strongly suggest contacting an authorized service technician who would be better able to assist you in the diagnosis and repair of your unit. You can often locate an experienced technician in your area by going to the manufacturer website.

Water will not stop running into washer

one of 2 things can do this, first unplug the unit from the power if it continues to fill then its the water fill valve thats bad, second if it stops filling when unplugged from the power outlet then its probably a plugged pressure switch line from the tub so the water pressure cannot switch the pressure switch diaphram from fill to wash cycle, open the cover and remove the pressure hose from the tub and blow into it and you will hear a click in the pressure switch its connected to,then replace hose onto tub side and blow into the other end of this same hose and make sure theres air movement in the tub as you will see and hear bubbling noise

My washer filled up with water but then wouldn't agitate. We have tried different cycles and even tried a different outlet just in case. It is 6 years old and I am wondering if it simply has died?

If you move the cycle selector switch to other cycles will it run. Possible bad selector switch.

Your pressure switch stops the water and allows it to start the next cycle. It's a switch either in the control panel or at the top of the tub with a small tube connected to it which goes down between the inner and outer tub. As the water level increases the air in the tube is compressed until there is enough pressure to make the switch stopping the water from filling. This tube can get clogged and the switch won't work. Remove the tube and clean it out. Blowing on the tube when it's still connected to the switch will make the switch if it's working and clear.

Keeps filling up with water even on spin

Close the water supply valve and allow the machine to completely drain the water from the tub. Turn off the machine and disconnect it from the power outlet. Open the water supply valve. Replace the water inlet valve if water drips into the tub when the machine is off.

Start a new cycle if the machine stops filling when it is off. The control board or the water level switch is malfunctioning if it keeps filling even during the spin cycle. Indicate the model number for proper troubleshooting and repair assistance.

NOTHING TURNS ON, PLUG IS OK SAID ELECTRICAN

If you have plugged the tub into another outlet and the jets work fine, it is not a control module problem. The tub should be plugged into a gfci outlet. If it is, there may be a reset switch on the plug it is plugged into, or there may be a switch somewhere else in your bathroom that has the reset switch on it. You can buy a tester for about $3 or $4 that plugs into your outlet to test if it has power. Hope this helps.

Kenmore 22956 top loader quit running after agite cycle

If the timer cycles your lid switch is ok.
most likely: motor Switch (on Motor), condenser next to motor, motor itself, or wiring going from the time to the switch,

It is probably cost efficient to replace the unit rather than trowing parts at it .

Water problem

Many dishwashers will drain at the beginning of any cycle.
If the water does not fill after the pump-out cycle, then the problem is either the fill valve or the float switch. You should be able to hear the float switch click as you raise or lower it. The fill valve usually hums whenever it has power.
If the fill valve has power but doesn't open, (use a voltmeter) replace the fill valve. If there is no power at the float switch, nor at the fill valve after pumping out, then the clock / timer is at fault.

OK it may be one of 2 things. I would check the lid switch first. On some maytags the have a lid switch that if it is not working properly it will not let the washer fill. If it will not fill the washer will not wash because the pressure switch did not activate the timer to wash. If the switch checks good you might have a bad timer. If you open the control panel you will find a tech sheet with the wiring diagram. I would follow the fill cycle and check the components. You might also check the water valve to make sure its ok too. But its very rear that both the hot and cold would go at the same time. Good luck!
