I have only had my crock pot less than a year and the crock cracked while cooking in it. I have only use it about four times. How can I order a replacement crock?

I got the Crofton crock pot at Christmas time and have only used it about four times since then. It cracked while cooking in it. I could smell something burning inside the metal part and that's when I removed the crock and saw the crack all the way across the center.

SOURCE: Hamilton beach 6qt electric crock pot about 4 years old

Call Hamilton Beach. This crock pot was recalled because of threat of severe burn. My handle broke and I dropped my lid. When I called to buy a new lid, I was told of the recall. They will send you an envelope. You then send back the end of the cord. I got a whole new cooker, crock and lid in the mail. : )

SOURCE: Cracked ceramic Kitchenaid crock pot liner

There is no inherent problem with the Kitchenaid ceramic inserts. As far as a replacement ceramic insert, I would suggest calling Kitchenaid Customer Service. They may be able to provide a new insert at no cost if the unit is still within the 1 Year warranty.

Their toll-free phone number is 1-800-541-6390.

How long do i cook a 22.42lbs turkey in a crock pot for how many hours

Yes you can but there are safety concerns about doing so as the crock pot doesn't reach the sort of temperature considered safe for cooking turkey. The length of time varies depending on whether it is chilled or at room temperature and the length of time mentioned is in the order of 8 hours.

It seems that my Rival crock pot is cooking too slow even on high setting. It has not been used excessively. A smaller one I used years ago cooked whatever in the stated amount of time per high/low...

Hello, Calexander58 -

The heating element for your crock pot may have failed.

You can test it to determine if it comes up the to the proper heat.

Follow these steps:
* Make sure you have the kind of cooking thermometer which can be used to take the temperature of liquids, like one for candy making. If you do not have one, you may be able to borrow one from a relative or friend. Otherwise, you will have to purchase one.
* Fill your slow cooker with water halfway to the top
* Turn it on to the lowest setting and cover for 8 hours
* Do not remove the lid during the full 8 hours
* Remove the lid and immediately take the water temperature
The water temperature should be 185 degrees Farhenheit.
Information source:
How To Test Your Slow Cooker
https://www.spendwithpennies.com/how-to-test-your-slow-cooker/

If the water temperature is less than 185 degrees F, it is time to replace the slow cooker, if it is no longer covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

Cracks in slow cookers. what causes that and how can it be fixed?

Cracks caused normally in slow cookers is normally caused from the unit being real hot, and then put under facet cold water. When the unit is very hot, and then is put under cold water before it has cooled down on its on to a warm temperature the dramatic change of hot to cold, cracks it. When its hot, its expanded, and then when it goes that fast to cold, it retracts to fast and causing cracks over a period of time, like stress cracks on air planes, when they go up they expand with cabin pressure, and when they come down to land they retract, over a period of time they get worn and cracks develop , same as a crock pot, except yours is with heat, the planes are with air pressure. You can't really fix the cracks. Well, you could have a shop fix them. but the cost would be way more than the crock pot. The only way you can help this from happening in the future, is after using it,before you wash it out let the crock pot cool down on its own for a while. Thanks Mike

My crock pot leaks!!!! What am I doing wrong.

If you are putting the food inside the ceramic crock and not over filling it, then you are doing nothing wrong and have a cracked crock.
If you are overfilling it and putting the lid on so it bubbles over when the temperature gets up, then you need to add less food or cook on a lower temperature.

I don't know what I would do without a crock pot; filling it with good things in the morning and coming home to a completed meal at the end of the day is a lifesaver.
Bon apetite!

A CRACKED LID FOR THE RIVAL 3100/2 CROCK POT

I have another pot with a lid and the lid 'fits' my crockpot; my glass crock pot just broke and my heart broke along with it! The cooking pot's lid worked for the soup I made last week but you can't see into the pot; I like that about the crock pot. Try another lid, or you can try to buy a new/different one, like I'm trying to do! :)

Why does my crock pot cook at too high a heat?

With something that small, there is not a lot of resources for parts and repair. The item is considered a throw away. You could contact customer service at RIVAL and see what they say about the issue. Could be mis-wired or something like that. The only easily replaced part for that is the stoneware.
