Form the back of the alternator there are two wires:orange/blue and black. the orange/blue wire connects to a silver box labeled "Motor Craft Electronic Regulator". the black wire is melted to a black/orange and a yellow wire. there is another wire(yellow/blue) wire that looks like it is suppose to be connected top the melted wire mass but to which wire? are they all suppose to be like that? i started looking through the wires because none of my lights work and my ignition doesn't even make a noise when i turn the key

check if the wire on the starter is fallen off or burnt. It might be touching on part of the chassis or engine and shorting when you try start the car.Is the engine turning over? Put the car in 3rd gear and try pushing it to check if the engine is not seized. If the engine is seized the starter wire will heat up as the starter will not be able to turn the engine.
