Remote control not response from tv (by 2 users)

Can't control the tv using the remote control. bought a new control same problem.
TV works fine as well as controls in the front panel.
1 Other User Has The Same Problem

same problem can only use remote through vcr.volume does not work when using through vcr

GuruSolder connects IR detector front of chassis,if that does not
do it, replace detector...............................T.
