I hate to say it, I only had this happen 1 time in 25 years I been doing repairs. It would have to be the Valve the coils are mounted too. I'm not 100% on this but the 1 time I had it happen to me it went bad 3 times in a month, I spoke to maytag tech hotline and they suggested it, and it took care of the problem for me.

SOURCE: Kenmore Serios 80 Gas Dryer - Replacing Gas Valve Coils

I haven't done coils in a while, You will need to remove the top and front panel to access the coils. The top should have catches that allow you to grasp the top by the back corners and pull forward slightly releasing the catch for left an right sides, other will have to have the top console removed to reveal 3 hex screw to pull the top off. Once done get a 5/16 and remove two hex screws left and right on the inside edges holding the front on, also unplug the harness to the door switch, by now the machine should be unplugged. the coils have a flange over them held on by some phillip screws. the orifice is preset so dont mess with adjustments, they should pop out and pop in

SOURCE: Dryer gets warm at first but then cools down

Check the hi limit thermostat and the cycle thermostat. They may be opening too soon.
Remove the connecting vent on the rear of the dryer exhaust and see if it cycles normally.
The flame sensor may be malfunctioning.
If the gas valve coils are good, these are the only other possibilities.

SOURCE: How to replace gas coil valves on Whirlpool LGR5636EQ3 Gas Dryer

DOES YOUR DRYER HAVE THE LINT SCREEN ON THE TOP? IF SO, REMOVE THAT AND TAKE TWO SCREWS OF(CARE NOT TO DROP IT INTO THE VENT). PULL THE TOP PANEL TOWARD YOU LITTLE BIT AND LIFT UP, THERE WILL BE TWO 5/16 SCREWS INSIDE FRONT PANEL, REMOVE AND UNPLUG THE LID SWITCH CONNECTOR, FRONT PANEL WILL COME OUT. THE GAS VALVES AND COILS ASSEMBLY WILL BE ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT. UNPLUG AND TAKE THE SCREWS OFF THE BRACKET AND REPLACE COILS. CHECK FOR CONTINUITY ON COILS, IT SHOULD READ 1.3 TO 1.9 OHMS. THE ONE WITH THREE TERMINAL, CHECK OHM FROM MIDDLE TERMINAL TO OUTSIDE TERMINALS.

I have a GE profile Harmony gas dryer model #DPGT750GC1PL. the dryer runs but there is no heat or air coming out of the vent. diagnostics do not indicate anything wrong

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
There's no heat dot_lineone.gif 1. Gas valve coils
Igniter glows, then shuts off without igniting gas - the problem is probably with defective coils (black, located on top of the gas valve). It is recommended to replace all coils (usually two or three) if found defective.

Note: Sometimes the whole gas valve may be defective, thus not letting the gas out. However, this problem is not common.

2. Thermal fuse
Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.

Note: It is recommended by most dryer manufacturers to replace a hi-limit thermostat when replacing a thermal fuse.

3. Igniter
Igniter may burn out or break. Replace the igniter if found defective.

Note: Igniters are very fragile and break easily. It is recommended to handle the igniter only touching the ceramic part of it (usually white in color).

4. Flame sensor (or radiant heat sensor)
Replace the sensor (located near the igniter) if found defective.

My Kenmore series 90 gas dryer (lint screen on the top) starts out fine, then after about 10 - 15 min, the air is cold. Have cleaned vents to the outside and in the machine. Have changes the cycling...

hello.
You likely will need to replace the 2 coil valve solenoids at the top of the burner. These safety coils may gradually fail over weeks or even months giving partial heating and longer dry times. As the coils are going bad, they will work for just a brief amount of time, then after a half hour or so of cycling on and off to maintain the drum's temperature, they'll break down and cease to open the valve.

This link here will show you what they look like and how to replace them, along with some more helpful tips.
I really hope that you find this helpful. Helping others is what I love to do. If you need any further assistance, I'll be happy to help you if I can.

Dryer tumbles continuously but does not dry. When

Check the following areas to combat this issue. the most common problem spot will be a blown Thermal fuse, but in your case, i would pay close attention to the gas valve coils.

Dryer heats once or twice then stops heating

It's likely one of the coils is opening a break in the coil as the coil heats up. This coil will shrink when cool and be able to run again. The number for the coil kit, which will replace ALL the coils, for your machine is 12001348.

Disconnect power and turn off gas before working on this dryer. Working on gas dryers is not recommended for people who are not professionals.

Service on gas appliances should be undertaken by professionals only due to the danger of gas leakage which can cause fires or death by asphyxiation.

The disassembly procedure is covered beginning on page 3-10 of the manual listed at the link below. Operation and replacement of coils is covered at page 3-32. Replace All coils with Kit Number listed above. Take care not to touch or hit the ignitor or you will be replacing it also. It is VERY brittle.

Reverse process to re-assemble. Good Luck

Got a LGS34AW very little heat can watch inside burb tube glow gets gas then ignites for about 2 sec then goes out. Just replaced burned out motor this has all come on since motor replacement. Yes the vent...

More likely faulty gas valve coils. These electrical coils are right above the gas valves and when energized, these solenoids open the gas valves and permit gas flow to the burner. It is recommended that if any gas valve coils are suspected of being faulty that they all be replaced at the same time when replacement is necessary. Sorry for your trouble and I hope this helped. Best wishes.

The heat (gas flame) goes out after dryer has been running for about 10 minutes and drum keeps turning but clothes never get dryed. Model is mdg6200

There are a couple of cycling thermostats inside the dryer. If one of them breaks down, it might affect the dryer's performance. Replace the defective thermostat.

This could also be caused by a bad set of coils as well. the problem is probably with defective coils (black, located on top of the gas valve). It is recommended to replace all coils (usually two or three) if found defective.

Note: Sometimes the whole gas valve may be defective, thus not letting the gas out. However, this problem is not common.
