Question about Western Digital WD Passport 250GB Portable Drive 250 GB Hard Drive
When I connect my WD to the CPU the light comes on but the Cpu says the device is not recognized. How can I correct this
Make sure you have the power plugged in plus the flat cable. Unplug the drive and start your computer. Power computer off and try hooking it up again. Windows should find it. If it doesn't, do you have the CD that came with it? If you do, go to control Panel, add hardware, and when it prompts you, insert CD. It should find it. If it doesn't find it the first time, I have had success on the second or third try, so don't give up. Hope this helps.
