Wiring up tsw307d4 SUB

Hi.

I have a tsw307d4 pioneer subwoofa in a box which is run by a pioneer Class D Mono Amplifier (GM-D7400M). The wiring has come out of the back of the subwoofa and i dont no where it goes back in to. The sub has 2 lots of + and - outputs and i wasnt sure which ones to wire the amp back up to. Thanks.

SOURCE: 2 Subs running together

If they have the same impedence (like 4 ohm) then you should be able to run two different model number speakers as if they were the same model number. There might be a slight difference in the way they sound, but I would not expect it to be enough to be noticeable. Good luck.

SOURCE: how do i hook it up

On the Sub you have 4 connectors, 2 for each voice coil... Run a jumper wire from One side of the sub to the other. Positive to negative so that now you have one set of connectors free. Doing this will make the sub able to handle more cause you're using both voice coils. Thats how i've always hooked mine up when i have duel voice coil and they always last a long time. If you're gonna bridge the amp, make sure its turned down for about 5 or 6 hours to let the sub break in.

you need to wire each sub down to 2ohms then wire them together like the one in this pic http://m.seimg.net/product/img/subwoofer_wiring/2_subs_DVC_4_ohm_mono_variation2.jpg witch will give you 1ohm so you will be getting every bit of power that amp has but you should get a bigger amp for thos speakers

Hi, you can split the preamp RCAs with Ys available everywhere. The amp input impedance shouldn't cause much load on the head unit. Let us know if you have more questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

If this is new out of box make sure you have 12volts to the amp turn on wire. You should have constant 12volt + to the battery terminal 12volt- to the ground and 12volt + from the head unit (radio) to the amp The turn on wire on most car stereos is a thin blue wire. run this wire to the amp's terminal and when you turn on the radio the amp should turn on.

Amp connection to pioneer tsw307d4

First of all check impedence of the subwoofer and how many voice coils it is. Go to www.the12volt.com click on subwoofer wiring diagrams then you check the load that your amp is stable at. Then wire it that way. Easiest way is to print out the diagram then take it actually out to the sub and box for reference.

Pioneer 800w mono issue

It can be many things it possible the amp cannot handle the 4 ohm load and simply goes into power protection mode. Also make sure your using the correct gage wire to run power from your battery to the amp to thin and it wont have enough power to perform.
