52SX4D LG Television, I have sound but no picture.

Usually is a burnt out bulb in this situation. Very easy to replace yourself in this type TV.
should be a small 7" x 7" or similar size plastic cover with ventilation either on it or near it, that will need to be taken off, may even say something about the bulb on it, also likely has a sticker or information about the replacement bulb you need on it.

then should just be 1 more screw that holds the housing with the bulb in it.
Most of the time it is like any other bulb, and if its burnt out, it will be very obvious, and there will likely be some shattered pieces of the lamp.

Make sure while this is open you run a vacuum to clean out the remains of glass as well as any dust, dust accumulation in the area causes overheating which can cause premature lamp failure..

Then just search google or ebay for your lamp, id recommend buying one with a housing, its a bit more, but you don't need to worry about damaging the lamp that way. Either way should be around $120 or less with a housing or about $90 without.

If you take it into a shop, the repairs will likely cost $250+ for a lamp replacement, which is about what these tvs sell for used anyway, so Id say DIY job is the best bet for this.

BE SURE TO NOT TOUCH THE LAMP with bare hands. Use ruber gloves, oils on your hands can also cause premature failure of the lamp.

Replace bulb

On right side as you look from front is door secured with at least one screw; with set unplugged remove door and two more screws behind it that secure the lamp cartridge (it has a handle) and carefully pull it out----replacement lamp comes in one of two ways= just the bulb or the bulb with the cartridge.

Get the one with the whole cartridge, much easier to replace and "generic" ones are no bargain as they usually have a shorter life.

Carefully insert the new cartridge in being sure the two pin plug on the back engages correctly; NEVER TOUCH THE FACE OF THE LAMP WITH YOUR HAND as oil on your fingers can damage the lamp when it operates.

If you search the internet with the model number you will find a lot of sources for a replacement lamp.

Let me know here if you have questions.

Where is the lamp in lg rt-62na31rb tv

It has been my experience that there are MULTIPLE lamps in most flat panel T.V.'s, unlike smartphone,P.D.A.'s and laptops where the screens have either a single cold cathode fluorescent light bulb ( contains mercury so careful not to break!) or an L.E.D. array that's reflected ( up usually ) though clear plastic behind screen. flat panels though are extremely difficult to repair on account they may have as many as a dozen bulbs. not to mention being located directly behind the screen so it's literally parts of the lcd, laptops are kinda screwed in and secured with metal tape at bottom for example-my experience has also been it'll usually be the power supply that drives the lamps that are bad and unless your lucky/good enough to diagnose which component has given out ( sometimes it's an electrolytic capacitor that looks a bit rounded on the top or has pushed it's rubber seal down against circuit board) they don't come cheap.Good luck hope this helped

Tv clicks butb wont turn on

If Your television clicks and the bulb wont turn on, then it means the lamp of the television is bad and need to be replaced. The clicking sound is caused by the power reaching the unit but being unable to be used up by the television. You need to replace the lamp to be able to use Your television. To replace the lamp, You will be needing these instruments, a cup, screw driver, replacement bulb and a hand glove. Then You follow the steps below:
  1. Power off the television,
  2. Unplug it from the power outlet and allow the television rest for about 6 hours so the high voltage on it will dissipate as television is well known to store high current after being plugged from a power outlet,
  3. Then You Wear Your hand glove to avoid some sort of shock,
  4. Then You unscrew the lamps compartment and put the screws into the cup in order for You not to misplace them,
  5. Then you turn off the lamps switch that is by the side of the lamp,
  6. Unscrew the screw that is holding the lamp to place,
  7. Carefully pull out the lamp from its casing and replace it with a new one,
  8. Reverse the whole process to reassemble the television back together and remember to turn on the lamps switch,
  9. Plug Your television and power it on.
Hope this was helpful. Thank You for using FixYa!!!

How do i replace a bulb for kf-50sx300u

There are two big screws at lower corners of tv at rear side, open them with coin then pull out lower front panel, in middle you will see lamp door, open its screw with coin to see lamp housing, lose its two screws with hex-key and pull out old lamp. Slide in new lamp and put things in reverse order.
Lamp replacement procedure is written in user manual and explained with pictures, check page-28 to have better idea.

I can't seeem to find out how to put the new lamp back into the t.v

if this is either of the 51" or 56" DLP tv's, it is very simple.
-Make sure tv is UNPLUGGED!
-Open the side compartment on left side of tv as you are facing it from the front.
-Take off the door and you will see the lamp housing. There are 2 screws facing you.Unscrew these and set the screws aside.
-Now pull on the housing a little and it should slide out.You may need to wiggle it a little.
-Set housing down on table or somewhere with good light.Make sure not to touch bulb of either the old lamp or new as oils from fingers can distort picture.
-Now,undo screws on shiny metal piece. There are 2.Take off metal housing piece.
-You now see the back of the bulb.If you look at the lamp from the front, you will notice where the 2 wires are fitted into a bracket with 2 screws.
-Unscrew those screws to loosen the bracket. The replacement lamp should have the exact same bracket. If not you can just undo the wires to the old lamp and connect the same wire harness to the new one.
-once the wire bracket is unscrewed, pull it out of its fitting and then unscrew the 4 screws holding the lamp in.
-Take notice of how the shiny metal clamp-fitting is situated to hold the lamp in place so you can put it back on the right way.
-Once loosened, the bulb should be able to come out and you can put the new one right in it's place. Make sure to keep the top wire connector on the bulb at about 11 o'clock and that a nub on the bulb fits through a spacer on the shiny metal clamp-fitting.
-Now tighten the 4 screws on the clamp-fitting and make sure the wire screw connectors on bulb are tight as well.
-Take the now loose rubber-covered wires and tighten them into the bracket-fitting the way the old ones were, with plugs and lamp facing the same way.
-With everything now tight, put metal housing back on and tighten the 2 screws down.
-Take the whole unit and slowly slide it back into the tv making sure that the plugs slide into their rightful place. This should be easy, but may require a wiggle or two.
-Now screw in the 2 screws you have left into the plastice mounting piece. Re-attach the door and plug the tv in.Wait a few minutes and then turn on tv.
-It should work.If not, unplug tv and check all connections.
TIP:Do not put a cold bulb in and then turn on immediately.I like to let the bulb sit in the tv with it plugged in for a while until the bulb is warmed and ready.
Good Luck! -Chris

Hitachi 50v715 model

Step1 Turn off the TV, and unplug it. Make sure to disconnect it from the outlet completely. Step2 Locate the bulb door of the TV. This is often on the back, near the power cord. Slide the door open and reveal the bulb. Step3 Unscrew the screws. Some screws are thumbscrews, while others may require a screwdriver. Step4 Gently remove the bulb. Pull the bulb out of the compartment, usually by grasping a handle and then pulling out and slightly down. Step5 Install the new bulb. Line up the groove on top of the new bulb's housing with the groove pocket on the inside of the television. Slide the new one into place. Step6 Tighten the screws. Do not overtighten them; they should be finger-tight only. Step7 Close the door. Make sure it is closed completely or the TV will not operate.

Screen goes black and sound goes away too

Remove the lower front panel by removing the 2 large round screw heads at the lower back corners, one on each side. Remove the retaining screw on the right side of the metal horizontal retaining strip in front of the bulb holder, remove bulb retaining screw in the upper left corner of the bulb holder. Pull the bulb holder out towards you and check for dust build up on the top screen on the bulb casing, if there is an abundance of dust it will restrict the airflow across the face of the bulb which causes it to heat up and turn off. Once the dust has been cleaned your bulb should now work as it should without a problem.
