How can I take off the tail light assembly to replace the bulb for the left tu

Open the trunk. In the left corner where the lamp assembly is, you should see two screw covers that cover the screws holding in the lamp assembly.

Remove these covers to find the screws, and unscrew them to pull the taillamp assembly out of the vehicle body. Disconnect the lamp wiring harness, turn the bulb socket counterclockwise to pull out the socket, revealing the light bulb. Then pull the bulb right out of the socket and replace it with a new bulb.

Replace the socket, turning it clockwise. Replace the taillight assembly. Check that the taillamp assembly tab, located at the bottom of the taillamp assembly, is aligned to the facia bracket before securing the screws.

Screw the taillamp assembly back into the vehicle body and replace the screw covers. Check to make sure the new bulb works properly.

Your owners manual specifies that the rear left turn lamp is a lamp with bulb number 3057K. You should be able to find them at any automotive store or from your dealer. Hope this helps.

How do I change my projector lamp?

  1. Front Projector
    • 1 Disconnect the power cable from your projector. Allow it to cool for 30 to 60 minutes. Lay the projector upside down on a table.
    • 2 Remove the lamp cover, typically located on one of the rear corners of the projector's underside. Depending on your projector, you will either have to loosen a few Phillips screws or press on one or two plastic release tabs to remove the lamp cover.
    • 3 Loosen the screws holding the lamp assembly in place. Grab the assembly by the handle and slide it out of the projector.
    • 4 Slide a new lamp assembly into the projector. Don't touch the glass on the bulb because it will damage the bulb. Tighten the retaining screws on the lamp assembly and replace the lamp cover.
    • 5 Turn the projector right side up and reconnect the power cable. Power on your projector.
    Rear Projector
    • 6 Unplug the TV from the outlet. Let it cool for 30 to 60 minutes.
    • 7 Remove the lamp cover. On most rear projection TVs, the lamp cover is located on the right or left side of the TV's rear panel. Remove the cover by loosening the screws and pulling the cover away from the TV. Certain manufacturers, like Mitsubishi, have the lamp cover in the front of the TV, near the left speaker. To get to the cover, you must first use your fingers to pry off the front panel below the screen, revealing the speakers and lamp cover. Loosen the screws on the cover and pull it away from the TV.
    • 8 Remove the lamp assembly. Loosen its screws, grab the handle and slide it out of the TV. If you have a newer Sony model, there are no screws. Instead, press the release tab to unlock the lamp assembly and slide it out of the TV.
    • 9 Slide a new lamp assembly into the TV. Don't touch the glass on the assembly, as the oils in your fingers will damage the bulb. Tighten the screws or pop the retaining tab into place.
    • 10

Replace the lamp cover and front panel, if necessary. Plug your TV back into the electrical outlet and power it on.

Tips & Warnings
  • Touching the lamp assembly before it has cooled can cause a nasty burn.

I have a Sony model KDF-50WE665. Made a pop and the picture went out. I think it's been slow to come on now for a couple of weeks, so it's probably the bulb. Can you tell me: 1) Where can I buy...

The lamp you need is Sony XL-2100U ($78 at Amazon) or XL-2100 ($84 at Amazon).

Turn off the TV and wait a few minutes before you unplug it (let the cooling fan run). Then wait at least another 30 minutes before replacing the lamp. There are two screws on the rear panel (left and right sides near the top left of center of the small panels on the on the ends). Loosen the screws and then pull off the front panel (below the screen). The front panel has to be pulled off in stages - start at the right side and pull forward and down, then the left - pull forward and down and then the middle - pull forward and up. Loosen the screw on the lamp cover with a coin and remove the cover. Loosen the two screws that hold the lamp (use an allan wrench) and remove the lamp by pulling it straight out. Slide in your new lamp (handle with care - use a glove to avoid any oil from your skin getting on the bulb). Tighten the two screws. Then replace the lamp cover and tighten the screw. (Make sure that the screw goes into the unit straight - otherwise the safety lock may keep the TV off.) Reattach the front cover and then tighten the back panel screws. Put the old lamp in a box after it has cooled completely for disposal.

Pictures are available in the User manual here: . The appropriate section starts at page 16.

I hope this helps.

How to replace a bulb

To replace bulb in RCA rear projection TVs follow this.
Turn the lamp assembly so that the front of the bulb faces downward
Locate two clips approximately three inches apart along the back edge of the rear lamp cover. Depress the clips with your thumbs and pull upward on the rear lamp cover to disengage it. Move the rear lamp cover so that you can see the head of the bulb. Note that the rear lamp cover still connects to the base of the bulb by a cable.

Locate the three hex screws around the head of the bulb that, in a triangle formation, secure the bulb to the assembly. Remove the screws with a hex screwdriver.

Pull the bulb and rear lamp cover upward to remove them.
Remove the nut that connects the cable from the rear lamp cover to the base of the bulb with a wrench. Disconnect the cable from the old bulb and discard the old bulb.
Reattach the cable from the rear lamp cover to the base of a new bulb and install the nut. Tighten the nut with a wrench
Install the bulb face down into the lamp assembly. Install the three hex screws into the tabs along the edge of the bulb and tighten with a hex screwdriver.

Reinstall the rear lamp cover onto the lamp assembly and line up the tabs with the holes along the side of the assembly. Press downward until the cover snaps into place.
Reinstall the lamp assembly into the back of the television, facing the bulb towards the center of the TV set. Tighten the screws securing the assembly and reinstall the lamp access door. Tighten the screw on the lamp access door.

How to replace bulb

Things you will need: 1. Philips screwdriver. 2. Pair of pliers. 3. A new bulb. Note: The new bulb should be handled with care. It doesn't hurt to do a final wipe with a clean, non-abrasive, lent free cloth before the final installation of the bulb. Steps to replace bulb: 1. Turn off the main power to your TV. 2. Remove the front cover from the TV set. This is held by a snap on. Pull the front cover outwards until the quick snap on releases. 3. Remove the screw securing the lamp cover with a Phillips head screw driver and remove the lamp cover. sdulin.png 4. Remove the two screws that hold the lamp in place. Remove the lamp unit by holding the lamp handle, then pulling outwards.sdulin_0.png 5. Next remove the metal cage by pulling outwards and away from the plastic enclosure, the metal cage should come loose. In the picture below you can see a groove where you can place your thumb inside and pull .sdulin.jpg 6. Now unscrew the scew holding the connection plug in place as well as the two screws holding the bulb in place. sdulin_1.jpg sdulin_0.jpg 7. Now take out the bulb from the enclosure. 8. Next swap out the power plug from the old bulb onto the new bulb. Our pliers come into use here to remove the nut from the center of the lamp. sdulin_2.jpg sdulin_3.jpg
Note: Be careful when screwing in the side connector on to your new bulb. It's best to hand torque here as it is very sensitive and might break with too much torque. sdulin_4.jpg
9. Now assemble in reverse order and you're finished!

Taillight bulb install

Open the liftgate and you should see the screws on the side of the lamp. Unscrew then and pull the lamp away from the vehicle. There should be 3 sockets in the taillamp that screw in and out about the size on a half dollar. Pull this out and pull the bulb out straight and replace by pushing in a new bulb. Follow these directions backwards to replace the lamp. Hope this helps.
