Here's a link for a Service Manual which applies to your mixer. While the motor works as you have stated, you might wish to test the motor's stator, and if that is all right, test the armature. There is plenty of information on armature testing on line.
Heheheheheh, not laffing at you but with you, You have just assembled stuff in the wrong place and you have to now adjust the speed control board to get the mixer to start up. Go to the KA site click on support click the drop down menu and click on get manuals then on left side of page click first and choose servicer then drop down and list your model number just as it is listed on the sticker under neath the mixer, click or hit enter and you will be taken to a new page with PDF forms the top section is the owners manual and the second section will be the parts list go to the matching model number and click on it scroll down to your manual and click on it, it will expand in a new window, scroll down and you will see the parts for the electrical area of the mixer, it is easy to figure out and you will quickly see the manner in which you need to assemble everything properly, once you have everything put back correctly you will need to adjust the 3 screws on the speed control plate. start with the two top screws chrome on the top of the black and copper plate, turn counter clockwise until the mixer starts, You can find a few good tutorials about this adjustment on utube that you can use as a guide. Hope this helps please let us know if it did.
HI.This steps might be as well helpful.let me just clarify that you can't even manually twist the shafting. If the motor is working an yet it will not turn the shaft.Tha shafting bossing might as well been broken misallign inside..Better remove the cover by unscrewing it and then try to observe how the motor works. If it really does turn when ever it is plugg on to the source.Observe also misallign bosssing that connects the shafting and the motor's rotor.Thank you for choosing FIXYA.
Hi LEDAVETORI, you don’t provide the model number or say if you have a ‘tilt-head’ or a ‘bowl-lift' mixer, which would helpful, but you can easily download a PDF version of your Owners Manual from the KA website at: (http://www.kitchenaid.com/flash.cmd?/#/page/home). Click on Customer Care>Locate Manuals& Guides> and enter the 6 character model number and select a file listed under Owners Manuals and save that file to your PC.You’ll need to have Adobe Reader to be able to open it. Turn to Page 11 and you will find the instructions for adjusting the mixer head height.I have extracted the instructions below: Beater to Bowl Clearance Your mixer is adjusted at the factory so that the flat beater just clears the bottom of the bowl. If for any reason, the flat beater hits the bottom of the bowl or is too far away from the bowl, clearance. Tilt-Head models • Unplug mixer. • Lift motor head.
• Turn screw (A) SLIGHTLY counter clockwise (left) to raise flat beater or clockwise (right) to lower flat beater. • Make adjustment with flat beater, so it just clears surface of bowl. If you over adjust the screw, the bowl lock lever may not lock into place.
Bowl-Lift models • Unplug mixer. • Place bowl lift handle in down position.
• Turn screw (B) SLIGHTLY counter clockwise (left) to raise flat beater and clockwise (right) to lower flat beater. •Make adjustments with flat beater, so it just clears surface of bowl. If you find the adjustment screw missing, you’ll need to replace it.But now you’ll need I hope this helps! –Howard, Burke, VA If this solution has helped you, please rate it, thanks! - hslincoln
Hi Leslie. www.mendingshed.com has a Kitchenaid Repair Manual available for a free download. If you're going to attempt a repair yourself, this manual will come in handy. You haven't said what model of mixer you have, so I'm only able to guess that this manual will cover your needs.
If this solution has assisted you, please rate it. Good luck! ricardok45
