My water hoses are in a little boxed in space. I must have to take the lid off to get to the hoses.
I can't get pliers in the space to loosen the hose.

Hi, Just pull the washer out away from the wall a little. You will need pliers to turn the fittings off. Be carefull when you replace them. The inlet valve is plastic and the threads will strip out very easy. Also notice witch one is hot and witch is cold.
I hope this helps you.

There are 2 different series machines. I believe the one you might have is after series 18. Remove the rear panel behind the controls and see if you can get to the hoses that way. If not, you will need to remove the front panel. Then remove the 2 screws holding the top to the cabinet and lift the top up to get to the hoses.

This is not one of there better ideas for a repairman to access the water valve. If you go to www.bellparts.com you can type in your model# and see the pictures to get an idea.

    I jope this helps you.

If there are no screws in the bottom front corners, then you will need to insert a flat blade in the gap between the top and front panel and release the spring clips. There are 2 of them.

Sorry but the pics aren't that great and I don't work on enough of these yet to know exactly.

Just push them in and lift the top at the same time. The top should seperate from the cabinet.

How to replace a washer drain pump on a MAVT634Aww Maytag washer. Thanks

It's a fairly simple job. Unplug machine. Lean back on back legs so you can access bottom / underneath machine. Remove belt. Place machine back on all 4 feet. Remove access Panel on back of machine in order to access Pump which is in bottom floor of machine. Remove 2 hoses from pump. There will be water that escapes so have several thick towels to soak up water. Pump is held on by 3 self tapping screws. Remove those, and pump will lift right out. Place new Pump in, reinstall screws and hoses. Reinstall back Panel then reinstall belt. You may want to leave back Panel off until you inspect for hose leaks. Don't forget to plug machine back in.

Maytag washer (LAT7400AAV)shuts off during rinse cycle

The machine control board is programmed to allow a maximum continous fill time of six minutes
or an accumulated fill time of 8 minutes for each full wash cycle.
If the required fill time exceeds the time limit, the washer will shut down.
This is to prevent flooding in the event there is a loose hose clamp or damaged air dome hose.
Check the incoming water lines for a minimum pressure of 20 psi.
If lower, the customer can use smaller clothes loads and reduce the pressure to 10 psi.
An alternative solution would be to change the plastic inlet screens to metal screened washers
and remove the nozzle extender found in the water valve inlet hose near the dispener inlet."

Leaking maytag neptune washer

The pump and its various hoses are easily accessable through the back panel. The boot can collect coins which can block the pump. Squeeze the boot and empty it of all coins. Coins can ruin the impellers on the pump. A new pump costs $100 on line. The drain hose can be plugged by dimes and pennies. Good luck.

You need to clean the screens in the back of the washer. Take off the hoses. Then pull out the screens that are inside the water valve of the washer. clean them then put them back in. This should solve your problem
