It sounds like HP records of you pc is not accurate. sometimes It could be a glitch on their computer system. So your best bet is to keep calling them and talk to a manger or supervisor until something is done. If note you might as well buy a new laptop because fixing the motherboard might cost you as much as a new laptop.
