Question about Sharp Notevision PG-B10S Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

My projector is shooting a yellowish brown color in the middle left of the screen. Kind of looks like it is burnt or something? What could this be and how can I fix it. I just changed the bulb for the first time about 6 months ago and it has been doing this for the last four months i would say. Thanks. Seth-

My Projector has a yellow streak in the middle left of the screen. It looks like a highlighter was used in a small area. Bulb is fine, filter is clean. What could it be? It is growing? Color wheel?

I Have 50inch Sony Bravia progetor tv and I have a yellowish colour in the middle of the screen

One of the color projectors CRT's is burnt out or is malfunctioning, the cost to repair this is very expensive, in the $500 range. With the new Flat panel LCDs now at rock bottom prices (saw a 42" at Best Buy for $499) I would really suggest you scape the old technology instead of repairing it, it will likely develop another problem within a year or so.

I replaced the lamp on a Panasonic PT-LC80U thinking this will solve the yellow appereance, but it did work, it seems that there are not blues in the image. What Can I Do to solve the problem?

here are some probable causes..
This appears to be an older model (over 5 years old) and LCD projectors turn yellow with age. It's just what they do
However, if you are projecting a computer signal or a component signal, a short in the blue signal of the cable can cast yellow hues over your image. The hue will cover the entire image as if you are viewing the image "through rose (or in this case, lemon) colored glasses" so to speak. That's an easy fix.

Harder fixes: the blue LCD panel is weaking and/or gone bad.

If you have a round yellowish spot in the middle of your screen, the diffuser has been overheated and is "burnt".

InFocus LP70 color problem

try resetting the settings to factory default through the menu. if there's still a problem, take the cover off. if you look from the back of the machine, inside on the bottom left, you'll see the main board attached by a large white plug. use something thin and non-metalic to push the bottom of the board towards the plug to tighten it. now do the same to the other side of the plug. this should solve it. if it doesn't, you need to replace the main board.

Yellow area in the projected image

Hello Media Man,

Looks like your projector has done it. Thats acommon trouble to ageing polirising lens, usually the blue. less blue, the green and red make up the yellowish image on the screen. The blue is bombarded with tremendous heat from the lamp and it fade and wash out. If its free, its worth replacing. Get quote for the poliriser; 2 pieces each color.
Good Luck.
