How do I enter a decimal on an old Bearcat scanner 101..it doesn't have decimal points just flip switches 1-16? Help this was my granfathers and I'm so into this but can't pick anything up
The operating manual has a copyright date of 1995, so manufacture would be that or a year or 2 later. My guess is '95 though, as that model did not have a long production run..
To program the majority of non-trunking Bearcat scanners,\:
- Power the scanner ON - Press MANUAL to stop scanning - Enter the channel # to program followed by MANUAL (OR just press MANUAL repeatedly to advance to the desired channel). - Enter the desired frequency, including the decimal point. - Press E (ENTER)
If these steps don't work with your scanner, please provide your model number and I'll get back to you with specifics.
Channels have to be programmed with a frequency before the scanner will allow them to be unlocked. The L/O indicator should automatically turn off once a frequency is in memory.
Which unit? I'd go to Uniden.com as they have all manuels
