Question about Canon PowerShot SD500 / IXUS 700 Digital Camera
I dropped my IXUS 70. The display screen when it is fully zoomed out has a black section in the corner. This black section also appears when the photos are viewed after they are taken. The picture quality also appears to have been affected with small streaks in the pictures taken. Can you please advise whether this can be repaired? I am unsure if my camera is still under warranty, I bought it about 1 or 2 years ago and do not have the documentation. I am temporarily living in Tokyo, is there a camera repairer for Canons you can recommend? Thanks!
You have a bad CCD. The CCD is like film, it is what the light hits that actually convert an image to a picture. This is a repair as a rule that is more costly than what your camera may be worth.
