My acer aspire 5520 laptop stalls during games. If I'm playing a game such as backgammon or rummy the timers on the games keep going but the game seems frozen, I can't make any moves. Any ideas why this is happening?
Thanks FoxSysTech. It's not an overheating issue, I keep the fan very clean/clear,just cleaned it off this morning in fact. Also it happens with all games so I don't think it's the games themselves. Sounds like an overheating issue to me. Clean out with canned air. Second guess would be an issue with the game itself on your computer. I would run a check disk to make sure you don't have any corrupt files.

This is for Windows 7 Go to control panel go to Uninstall a program, Click on Turn windows feature on or off. uncheck games. Then reboot. repeat the process and recheck games and all should work!
Sorry you are having troule. It sounds as if it is getting hot and protecting itself. Games are very cpu intensive and this causes heat. The cheap fix is an under cooler. This is a cooler the laptop sits on. I have seen them at Best Buy for under $20
