Check drivers in device manager. Make sure the physical knobs, swtiches, buttons or settings are put on at least 50%. Then check windows settings to make sure those are put on at least 50%(start>control panel> sound settings> volume toggle). If both of those check out, it might be a hardware problem.

Monitor goes black (no green, no to flashlight test) even while we are working at fast pace and laptop is stationary. Monitor stays on (power light on), tried both crt and lcd monitors; same behavior. Can wiggle mouse or reboot to regain visual. Also when moving the laptop, screen flashes, both monitors. Cannot test with laptop monitor, as employee needs larger screen to do work and this is intermittent -- can happen 15+ x day or go 3 days with no problem.
