Kingston thumb drive becomes readonly

make sure there isnt a locking switch on it anywhere. If it isnt, then a reformat may be in order. If the pen drive contains valuable information then you will need to select all of the files, right click on one of them, go to properties, then uncheck the read-only button. If this does not work, then you might be able to use a data recovery program to 'scan' the pen drive, but this doesnt always work, espeically if the lockout is caused by a hardware problem. In that case, you are out of luck.
