Why doesn't the trigger do anything on my NS289000 framing nailer?

Nailer not firing is caused by lack of lubrication in the headvalve (lube with white grease) or driver stuck/bent (make sure driver moves freely) or safety foot not depressing the firing pin on the trigger valve all the way in. Easy to check. Remove the trigger to expose the firing pin. With no nails in gun, connect air and depress the firing pin with finger all the way in. If the gun fires, adjust the safety foot. If the gun does not fire, lube headvalve and check driver piston stuck. Good luck

Fires 2 nails back to back

Hi Ray,
2 Quick questions.

1. When you say that the nails are firing in pairs, are you "Bump Firing" the tool? (That's to say you hold the trigger down and then bump the tool onto the timber)

2. Is this a method that you're well used to doing?

How does the framing nailer work with a black button grey button

Dewalt has two triggers available for their framing nailer. The black trigger (390746-00) is a bump style trigger. While holding the trigger, you will be able to fire a nail by pressing nose against work. This trigger is preferred by most framers because it is much faster. Gray trigger will only allow one nail to be fired. Bumping will not work with the gray trigger. With trigger released, you must place the nose against work then pull trigger to fire. To fire next round, you must release trigger, pull gun off the work, again place nose against work then press trigger. Check dewalt web site for recall information. Some dewalt framers have been recalled for faulty trigger. Good luck with your projects.

My paslode impulse framing nailer fires intermitantly. New batt & fuel cell.

Hi,

Here is a tip that I wrote about the Paslode nailers and the problems that can come up with them.

I also have a link to the Paslode manuals which contain Paslode cleaning and troubleshooting guides.

If you need parts for your Paslode, there also is a link for a site that sells the Paslode nailer parts.

I have a craftsmans framing nailer when pushed against surface it will not fire and release the nails or even try.

Check the compressor to make sure you have it set at the proper air pressure for this nailer. Typically a framing nailer requires about 90 psi.
