Re: IBM T22

Does it feel like it's running hot? If so, check that the cooling vents are clean and that the fan is running. A second thought is that you may have some mal-ware that you've picked up off of the internet. I fought a similar problem on an IBM T41 for several weeks. Look up and download a copy of Ad-Aware SE (it's free!) I wouldn't have a computer without it installed. Picks up all kinds of crap that Norton never even sees. Same to be said about AVG, and that's free, too.
If this tips don't solve your issue, get back to me and we'll pick up from here.

Using windows xp the system shutsdown again and again during my work without giving any warning, however working with windows ME it works smoothly, why?

Windows XP "works" the CPU more than Windows ME.
So, the computer heats up, as the CPU works "harder",
and the computer overheats, and shuts itself down.

Turn the computer off.
Disconnect the AC power.
Remove the battery.
Purchase a can of compressed-air, and give the computer a "blow-job", to blow out all the accumulated dust, which is acting as an insulator, preventing the air-flow in the laptop from cooling itself down to "normal" temperatures.

IBM Think Pad T22 auto -shut down a few minutes

Try running it without the battery. Sometimes an IBM battery can develop a short and cause this. If it still does it without the battery, I'm afraid it's the power management chip on the motherboard, and the motherboard will need to be replaced.

My T22 unable to start

Hi Yamato,

It is possible that the battery has been so depleted that it gobbles up all the power from the charger/adapter and leaves nothing for the laptop to use. Perhaps what you can do are:
1. try and charge the battery at least overnight with the laptop off;
2. use the adapter/charger only and remove the battery from the laptop.

Hope this be of help. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

IBM T22 Battery won't charge & is not detected

Take it to a very good technician who will open it up and check a dry joint in the charging system.  Sometimes if you donot attend to it quickly you may find your T22 refusing to power at all with the AC Adaptor.  Delicate soldering may solve your problem.  Power may not be getting to the charging circuit and the battery thus it is totaly discharged.
