I bought the special cleaning cartridge as suggested and it worked very well. My RX620 is working like new!

That problem is frequently on HP 2600 series.
You must try to change all remanufactured toner cartridges with HP OEM with no exception, the best alignment it is when you change the black cartridge and the printer make a cleaning page process. Cartridge HP OEM should be almoust empty. It Is not necesarry to be a new one. After the alignment process, you can put the remanufacturated cartridges back on.

Missalignment problems ae not uncommon with this series of printer.
The cause is one of the sensors (which are used for calibration and alignment) on the transfer belt, is faulty.
These sensors are NOT availale, and replacement of the transfer belt is the solution.
Transfer belt replacement on these printers requires quite a bit of dismantling, its not considered to be a user replacable consumable.

If the black toner prints like the image below with alternating bands of light and dark printing, the problem lies with your imaging unit.
Specifically the developer blades in the imaging unit has toner build up on the blades. The more you use a particular color, the more it builds up to the point that it exhibits itself as faded images on the paper.
It can be fixed by replacing the imaging unit for $100+, but it will reappear again after sometime. Or you can fix the problem yourself and save yourself $100. You will need to open the imaging unit and clean the blades. I have a description on how to do this in my tips section.
