Hi! It is 2 blinks, with about 2 seconds inbetween the first and the second, and then a 10-12 second pause. Then it goes back to the two blinks again.

Did you get this? It is 2 blinks, with about 2 seconds inbetween the first and the second, and then a 10-12 second pause. Then it goes back to the two blinks again.

I get 2 blinks and then a long pause with 1-2 seconds between the first and second blink and 10-12 seconds until it starts over again.

I tried going to your website to see the pictures, but the page is unavailable. Would you be willing to email my pictures? Thanks!!!

  • kdiamond675 Jul 07, 2009

I am happy to try to do the repair myself, but can't see your pictures. If I can't see your pictures, I don't know what I'm looking for. Please explain.

I unplugged the tv for 24 hours and there was no change. What now? I am looking for someone to help me troubleshoot and walk me through the steps to fix it.

  • kdiamond675 Jul 08, 2009

I checked what I thought to be the capacitors and I did not find anything bad about them. No bulging, burn marks, etc.

Apart from a "power reset" (unplug the unit for an hour and replug it in) there's most likely a burned out component on the circuit board.

If you're comfortable getting inside the television, go in and check the main board, (you may need to remove it so pay careful attention to any plugs you remove). What you're looking for would be a broken solder connection. All the chips are solderd and a bad/broken solder joint could very definitely cause the symptoms you now have.

The problem is caused by parts calledcapacitors overheating in the confined space of he monitor. If you aregood at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix he problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htmYou can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts, replace any that look like the pictues and your monitor should workfine. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and -connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one thesame way. If you don't want to try the repairyourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping. If themonitor does not have any bad caps then I would be that when the videocard died it sent a spike to the monitor and killed the driver board. Ihope this helps,

The back light inverter board may have gone out or it is not getting the 24vdc from the power supply module. Start checking for voltage feeding the inverter board.

We had a power outage and the next day all I could get on my TV was the blinking power light. Can you hellp me? I have a Samsung 42" LCD Flat Panel HDTV Model No. LN T4042N edit

Hi, the power surge has destroyed the power supply board that is located inside your lcd cabinet. this board works in conjunction with an inverter board that regulates the raw ac current that is used for many different functions in your set. Normally, this type of damage will be isolated within the power supply but, it could have spread to the main control board as well, depending on how well the surge protector preformed during the surge.

The good news is that, this is a repairable situation. you can replace the power supply circuit board and inverter board as well. these replacements will fix this issue.

please rate and god bless:)

Arte you using a cable provider? if so you should be able to adjust it to a wide screen or stretch, most cable providers are supposed to apply the settings when installing the box, so that the screen will auto fit your set, otherwise you will get image retention
