Question about Tomtom ONE XL GPS
The first step would be to format the SD card by putting it into a card reader on your computer, but format it as FAT32 instead of NTFS. If you know how to do this, please do, otherwise skip this step and try the following. If you have formatted it as FAT32, you must still try the following please.
Do you have the TomTom Home software installed? You must install it and then load the map into TT Home, and then connect your device to the computer and load the maps to the device from Home.
Now if TT Home doesn't recognize the SD card, it's probably because its disabled by default. To make it work, please do the following in credit to medstudent24:
Everytime you slide the card in, TomTom will automatic detect and use it as its primary storage, if it not detect, you can go to the device menu and pick the device to connect to.
Whenver you take the SD card out, then TomTom will use its internal memory.
Hope I have been helpful.
