Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
The Laser lens is most likely unable to read dvd's anymore, its failing and would need to be replaced, if your on warranty contact acer to get it replaced for free.
if you are outside of warranty acer will repair it and bill you for it.
the drive would need to be replaced.
If you can't open the drive to see files, and dvd movies or dvd programs / games don't work then the drive is faulty, the laser optics are failing, the cd works but the dvd reading doesn't work anymore the laser would need to be replaced but due to low price of the drive its better to replace the whole drive than to try to repair.
