How do i stop my uniden from talking?

Go into your settings, go to general, scroll down and click on Assessability, then from their you should see a tab that says "VoiceOver" turn it off

Try pressing the intercom button (base) above the number 1, on the handset the intercom button is below the # button.

I can only tell you that I had similar problems with my Uniden system. My solution, after much frustration, was to buy a $25 AT&T answering machine and add it to the system. I then turned off the Uniden recording capability and for the last two years have been very happy. I use Firefox which has an extension (found as an add-on) called PriceBlink. Once I brought up the web page describing the answering machine, PriceBlink notified me that the best price was, not amazingly, was in Amazon dot com. PriceBlink also shows the price for S&H. If you use Chrome there is a similar extension whose name I have forgotten, but it is equally effective. I won't use IEx, so if you're looking for a best price and not using Firefox or Chrome I can't tell you how to find a best price, but just google "Telephone Answering Machine" (with the quotation marks) and see what's there. There aren't a lot of them - they're a dying breed. I've given up on Uniden. One of the satellite phones stopped working after about 18 months. I don't buy extended warranties, so that one was trashed.

Toss it in the dumpster No see if there is an auto answer option . Check and see if the (DELETE TRANSFER BUTTON ) is pushed in i just tested the exact phone and it makes it answer right away when the call comes in . See if perhaps your chin or hand is holding this particular button down

You are either describing a CALL TONE ( The Call Tone obtains others’ attention before you start talking) or the ROGER BEEP (When you turn on this feature, your two-way radio transmits a unique tone when you
finish transmitting. It’s like saying “Roger” or “Over” and lets others know you’re
finished talking.)

To shut off the roger beep, hold in the plus + button while turning the radio on.

The CALL TONE may or may not be a feature of your T5210 radio. I am unable to open the online manual for it to tell for certain. If it does have a CALL TONE feature you would access it by pressing the MENU button until you see a "CA" on the screen along with a number. Using the plus or minus button change the setting to zero, followed by pressing the menu button or the PTT button. The zero setting is equivalent to OFF.

The light in the upper left indicates you new messages. The light will flash until you clear all messages.

The first thing i would check is if the "Priority" function is on. If "Priority is on it will skip everytime it takes a look at the priority frequncy.

Here are the instructions for turning on and off the priority feature.

To turn on the priority feature, press Func + Pri
during scanning. PRI appears. Then the scanner
checks the designated priority channel every
2 seconds in each bank.
To turn off the priority feature, press Func + Pri. PRI
disappears.

This feature that you are experiencing is called exclusion. When you answer a call on one phone you cannot listen to the call on the other phones. Keeps ease droppers from listening. If you have the manual to the phone there will be a feature in there that will tell you how to turn it on and off

Do you have a "lockout" feature in the radio?
Maybe try resetting the scanner and start over from the beginning. Usually by resetting, will disable any extra features (such as the lockout)
