I solved the problem by going into BIOS and resetting the audio controls. Thanks for support. It's reassuring to know there is such a service on the web.

install the keyboard drivers, go here:

Go down to the keyboard section and download that piece of software and install it. That should take care of the sleep and hibernate buttons not working.

I think that all you have to do is to install the driver, reboot and go to your computers control panel.

You can down load it from www.mininova.org. You'll need to use a bittorrent for downloading. Or you can do a search online to purchase windows xp sp2.

Sorry, I'm having trouble reading minds since I was fitted with this tinfoil hat by the doctor. Perhaps you could tell the FixYa community what model of Vaio you have?

Go to the Sony web-site and select "Service & Support" => "Drivers and Software".
Enter in the model vaio that you have and download the latest Sound driver. Install that and you should get your sound back.
