Realtec hd i have sony vaio,it was xp home,i change to xp pro sp2,and i have no sound.wtat i have to do,to get suond on my lap-top ?

You need to teach the computer how to make sound. This is done with a (generally) small file called a driver. Sony drivers can be found on their website.

Your license is still valid but you have to call Microsoft ( 1-800-805-4440) and provide them your product id so that they can generate the a new windows XP key for you or may be they will offer you Windows 7. Anyhow, you do not have to buy a new Windows XP key.

Is the program not installing at all? Or it just won't run?

Try using the compatibility options for it. If the program did in act install, open up the start menu, and right click on the application. Select properties. There is a compatibility tab. On that tab you can select the Checkbox to run the program in compatibility mode - WindowsXP SP2 usually works for most legacy apps.

1st u say what type of motherboard u use......
open ur xpsp2 then install sound driver
setup ....then cancel then wait ...restart

Go to the Sony web-site and select "Service & Support" => "Drivers and Software".
Enter in the model vaio that you have and download the latest Sound driver. Install that and you should get your sound back.

My book pro 500g external drive works on my xp home but not on xp pro

Hi Yodel, Plug in the Book Pro. Then ff you RIGHT mouse click on MYComputer then select PROPERTIES and then click on HARDWARE then DEVICE MANAGER Do you see any exclamation marks? If you do, click it with the mouse and select remove. Then unplug the Book Pro, restart the pc and then plug the bookpro back in. Let me know what happens.
